On Thursday, December 3rd, the Prep Redzone Stock-Up Showcase Tour hit the road to Lake Barrington, Illinois. A sold-out event featured plenty of talented prospects from across the state of Illinois and even some intriguing out-of-state recruits. There were some blazing times during the testing portion and dominant performances during 1 on 1’s. With that being said, here’s who stood out.

LB’s
[player_tooltip player_id="245784" first="Jack" last="Kerno"], Rockford Boylan, 2023
A long, athletic inside linebacker prospect with good instincts. Kerno showed lax hips and good recovery speed during 1 on 1’s. He can change direction in space and did a fine job coming to balance under control & tagging off on running backs in the competition period.
[player_tooltip player_id="237522" first="Josh" last="Lambert"], Downers Grove North, 2023
Josh was moving on Thursday, clocking a 4.62 40-yard dash time. During 1 on 1’s, he showed great eye discipline and proved that he covers more like a safety than a linebacker. All night, he played with great knee bend, blanketed running backs downfield, and showed terrific range.
Alex Szczesniak, Sandburg, 2022
A tough, competitive kid who will fight to win every snap. Alex has a steady build to him and showed that he can easily run with backs out of the backfield. He took great angles to the ball during the competition period and had calm & composed feet during individual.
[player_tooltip player_id="224550" first="Jake" last="Kohanzo"], Barrington, 2022
A savvy prospect with great initial burst and closing speed. Kohanzo was consistent during 1 on 1’s and looked like a natural playing man against shiftier backs in space. He’s pretty explosive, too, broad jumping 9’1", the best amongst his position group.
DB’s
[player_tooltip player_id="232513" first="Pervis" last="Brunson"], Niles North, 2022
A speedy prospect who clocked a 4.47 forty time to start the day. Brunson showed swift footwork in press and never got stuck at the top of his breaks. He was extremely sticky during 1 on 1’s and did a good job leaning & locating the football in the air.
Saint Golden Irby, Lake Forest, 2022
Saint was dominant in press coverage using quick six-inch steps and a strong off-hand jam. He constantly controlled wide-outs through their route and forced them off their line on the go ball. This is a young man who loves the game and uses his competitive nature to help win on 50/50 balls.
Clemon McCullough II, St. Edward, 2022
When you watch Clemon, you’ll see crispy breaks that never leave the framework of his body and outstanding ball skills. He has a smooth backpedal and will easily transition out of it. He was one of the more polished defensive backs during individual and really jumped out at me.
[player_tooltip player_id="213321" first="Jeremiah" last="Wilson"], Plainfield South, 2022
Wilson moves pretty well, clocking a 4.63 in the 40-yard dash. He was a standout during 1 on 1’s, getting his hand on multiple balls thrown vertically downfield. He constantly got his eyes to the receiver’s hips when running stride for stride with him and didn’t look back when he was out of phase.
[player_tooltip player_id="155110" first="Trevon" last="Hunter"], La Salle Peru, 2022
Hunter looked put together in person and is a kid who I think has potential on either side of the football. He’s a playmaking safety prospect that can go up and get the football at its highest point. He showed loose hips, the ability to stop on a dime with wideouts, and superb change of direction.
