With the early signing period recently occurring for the class of 2022, it is always normal to start looking ahead at the talent in some of the other classes. The class of 2024 quarterback class is shaping up to be a talented one with numerous talented prospects already starting to impress scouts and coaches. We are going to take a look at a few members of the quarterback class of 2024 and get a preview of what they could do over the next few seasons.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="149571" first="Walker" last="White"]-Little Rock Christian-6’3” 200-Pounds</strong>
Little Rock Christian quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="149571" first="Walker" last="White"] had an impressive 2021 season. White passed for 2,010 yards, 23 touchdowns, and only 11 interceptions. Meanwhile, White has shown that he is not afraid to pull the ball down and use his legs to pick up yardage. The Little Rock Christian signal caller rushed for 487 yards and five touchdowns on the season. White has the potential to be a quarterback that scouts are going to want to keep track over the next two years. Expect White to see playing time on Saturdays in the future.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="214836" first="Donovyn" last="Omolo"]-Conway-6’0” 180-Pounds</strong>
One quarterback that displayed his improvement week after week this season was [player_tooltip player_id="214836" first="Donovyn" last="Omolo"]. The Conway Wampus Cat put up terrific number ins his debut season as the signal caller. Omolo passed for 2,626 yards, 27 touchdowns, and only six interceptions this season. Omolo does a great job of keeping his eyes down the field and finding his wide receivers. The young man knows when to get rid of the football and when to escape the pocket. Look for Omolo to continue to improve over the next two seasons, he is setting the bar high for impressive performances down the road.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="155329" first="Bryce" last="Perkins"]-Van Buren-6’2” 165-Pounds</strong>
The Van Buren Pointer quarterback opened some eyes during his first season as the Van Buren starter. Although, Perkins had his season cut short due to an injury, he displayed enough talent every Friday night to open plenty of eyes. He passed for 1,123 yards and 12 touchdowns on the season. However, Perkins is not afraid to run the football and he racked up 133 yards and three touchdowns on the season. Perkins is going to be a quarterback to watch out for, he’s got the arm strength and the accuracy to be special.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="149574" first="Bradon" last="Allen"]-Lonoke-6’0” 165-Pounds</strong>
Every night when I would do the Prime-Time Players articles, [player_tooltip player_id="149574" first="Bradon" last="Allen"] became a name I grew very familiar with over the course of the season. From a passing perspective, Allen is extremely accurate. Allen threw for 1,508 yards, 20 touchdowns, and only seven interceptions this season. Meanwhile, Allen was just as deadly for opposing defenses when he ran the football. Allen rushed for 846 yards and 13 touchdowns on the season. Allen is a player that will likely have another strong season in 2022.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="149543" first="Kel" last="Busby"]-Pulaski Academy-6’2” 185-Pounds</strong>
Pulaski Academy is earning the reputation of being a quarterback factory. Busby has an extremely strong arm, and he can throw with touch or burn the ball into a wide receiver when needed. He has good mobility in the pocket, and he does a good job of keeping his eyes down the field. Busby is a quarterback that should continue to impress on the gridiron, however, he is one impressive baseball player as well. Keep an eye on Busby in both sports.
