The class of 2022 has currently 369 prospects that are listed. Prep RedZone Arkansas had the opportunity throughout the course of the season to add plenty of new prospects to the list. We are going to take a look at a few of the new additions that debuted on the rankings for the December update. A few of the names may be familiar and some up until now may have been flying under the radar.
[player_tooltip player_id="181538" first="Mani" last="Powell"]-Linebacker-Fayetteville
The future Arkansas Razorback gave the Bulldogs one of the best linebacking corps in the state. Powell plays with good speed and is always around the ball carrier. He is a player before an injury at midseason was a nightmare for the opposing offense to keep track of during the game. Powell has the speed and the instincts to drop back into pass coverage as well as being a nightmare for the opposing offensive backfield to contend with. Powell has the potential to see some early playing time for the Razorbacks once he has recovered from injury.
[player_tooltip player_id="160632" first="Jackson" last="Hutchens"]-Defensive Back-Bentonville
The Bentonville secondary was such a talented unit this season. [player_tooltip player_id="160632" first="Jackson" last="Hutchens"] emerged as a playmaker in the secondary for the Tigers. Hutchens is an impressive defender when it comes to bringing down the ball carrier. The Bentonville safety had a knack for always being around the football and he made good plays on the football all season. Hutchens has the hands to pick off passes and is athletic enough to take the pass in the opposite direction. He has the potential to play on Saturdays and should be a player scouts take a long look at.
[player_tooltip player_id="181540" first="Braden" last="Bullington"]-Defensive Line-Farmington
The defensive line was unit that caught my eye when watching the Farmington Cardinals this season. One player in particular, defensive end [player_tooltip player_id="181540" first="Braden" last="Bullington"]. Bullington could always be found in the opposing offensive backfield. He has the speed to cause opposing defensive linemen problems and get to the quarterback quickly. Bullington is quick enough to bring down the running back and is someone that could do well playing on Saturdays in the future.
[player_tooltip player_id="242146" first="Cameron" last="Booth"]-Defensive Back-Bryant
Booth is a player that can play the safety role or the linebacker position with equal effectiveness. Booth has terrific speed and is always around the football. What I like seeing out of Booth the most is that the plays with a mean streak and a chip on his shoulder. He is someone that has the instincts to live in the opposing backfield and is a nightmare to block. Booth is another player on the defensive side of the ball that scouts will want to pay a visit to over the next few weeks.
[player_tooltip player_id="205585" first="Steven" last="Weston"]-Wide Receiver-White Hall
Over the past few months, one player on the offensive side of the ball has really blown up at this point. Wide receiver [player_tooltip player_id="205585" first="Steven" last="Weston"] was extremely impressive for the Bulldogs all season. Weston has good hands and has the speed to create separation in the secondary. Weston is one player that opened some eyes especially during the playoffs. Weston is one player that more than earned a spot in the rankings update for the month of December. He has the talent to play on Saturdays in the future.
