At the high school ranks, there is no shortage of players who do a lot of things to impact a game. Here, we take a look at some of the most versatile 2022 unsigned prospects in Georgia.
Rowan Darnell | 6’4 | Johns Creek
At first look, Darnell is an extremely impressive prospect when it comes to his physical traits. He is all of 6’4 215, and has plenty of room to fill out. What is most impressive about Darnell’s tape is his blocking ability. Whether he lines up at TE, FB, or WR, he is constantly used as a lead blocker. What he lacks in size he makes up for in his aggression, and he will only get better as a blocker with added size. As a pass-catcher, he offers a mismatch problem anywhere he lines up due to his large frame and catch radius. He also has some underrated speed for his size. With all those impressive traits, Darnell should be an intriguing prospect to college coaches.
AJ Vaccaro | 6’1 | Creekview
Vaccaro spends most of his team lined up in the slot at WR, but he also lines up at multiple other spots on offense, especially TE and HB. What is most impressive about Vaccaro is his physicality. He is a high effort player who packs a punch, which is likely why he is used in a lot of formations as a lead blocker. At WR, Vaccaro is a great route runner who has a knack for getting open. A smart player who always seems to be in the right place at the right time. Vaccaro can line up all over the field and make plays at every spot. Because of that, plenty of colleges have taken notice.
Silas Mulligan | 6’1 | White County
Mulligan is a small school prospect in Georgia, so he has flown under the radar. Even though he is under the radar, he still has plenty that would make him valuable at the next level. Mulligan spends most of his time at RB. When he isn’t there, he is likely taking direct snaps at the QB spot. They want to get the ball to him and get it to him quick, and it usually works. Mulligan is not the biggest prospect at 170 pounds, but he has some blazing speed and excellent vision with the ball in his hands. Mulligan rushed for over 1000 yards in multiple seasons at White County. Regardless of if his future is at RB, Mulligan should get a shot at the next level with the blazing speed he has.
Davin Driskell | 6’6 | Greenbrier
At 6’6 with blazing speed and elite agility, Driskell is a bonafide playmaker on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Driskell lines up outside at WR and uses his long strides to eat up grass and ger downfield. He also offers a large catch radius, and knows how to use his frame to fend off defenders. With more room to fill out, his future would likely be at TE on offense. Defensively, he plays at the EDGE. Like how he is on offense, he uses his long strides to eat up grass and takedown defenders, and has the ability to get even better. Driskell is a 2 sport star with football and basketball. If he sticks with football, look for him to be a big-time TE or OLB. It is confusing as to why his recruitment has not picked up on the gridiron, but if it should, somebody could be land themselves a hidden gem.
