Continue ReadingAs the 2021 season ends and the 2022 class nearing signing day, recruiting is starting to take center stage in high school football. Lots of commitments at the top of both the 2022 and 2023 classes will start to roll in soon and some risers will start to receive some collegiate attention.
National Signing Day: February 20, 2022.
Here are some notable recruiting updates at the beginning stage of the frenzy.
Semaj Morgan Semaj Morgan 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR West Bloomfield | 2023 State MI commits to Michigan
As the class of 2023 starts to pick their schools, the recruiting wire received a big commitment with Morgan to Michigan last week. Morgan is a gifted wideout that can use his shiftiness to run clean routes and create seperation. A big offseason and junior season allowed for Morgan to get some more recruiting attention. He finished the 2021 season with 61 receptions for 1,015 yards and 13 touchdowns. West Bloomfields big playmaker is one of the top recruits in the 2023 class, and could be a dynamic weapon in Ann Arbor with OC Josh Gattis.

Cole Cabana Cole Cabana 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB Dexter | 2023 State MI picks up an offer from Western Michigan
A popular recruit on the offensive side of the ball had some news this week as he picked up an offer from Western Michigan. The all-purpose back adds to an impressive collection of 16 offers. Cabana is speedy with some solid vision and body control. His burst through the line of scrimmage makes him almost invisible until he gets to the second level. Rated as the #1 RB in the state of Michigan, there’s no doubt more offers will come Cabana’s way as we enter the early portion of the off-season.
Keyone Nixon Keyone Nixon 5'10" | 170 lbs | DB Macomb Dakota | 2022 State MI picks up two PWO’s
Nixon, one of the big risers in the class of 2022, has recently received two preferred walk on offers from Michigan State and Western Michigan. The Morgan State commit will be an immediate contributor next season and showed why in the 2021 season.

Evan Sundermann Evan Sundermann 6'2" | 190 lbs | P East Lansing | 2022 MI gets first D1 offer from Morehead State University
One of the top punters in 2022 picks up an offer from Morehead State University. Sundermann, a senior, had 24 punts with a 46.3 yard average. He pinned 8 punts inside the 20 yard line and had 0 blocked.

Caiden Sloan Caiden Sloan 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Macomb Dakota | 2022 State MI receives offer from Tiffin
One of the best running backs in the state during the 2021 season, Sloan is receiving some interest as his recruiting heats up close to signing day. Sloan made countless plays for Dakota when they needed it most this season and has been severely underrated as a recruit. He finished the 2021 season with 285 carries, 1941 rushing yards (school record), 6.8 YPC, and 23 TD’s.

Mekhi Battle Mekhi Battle 6'1" | 215 lbs | DL Clarkston | 2022 State MI picks up 3rd offer from John Carroll University
The Clarkston defensive lineman was recently ranked in the updated 2022 rankings. He is a bull of a player that has a high motor and can wreak havoc inside. This past week, Battle received his third offer, this time from John Carroll University. Battle could be a player to watch as he will continue to attract college attention as we inch closer to signing day. Some impressive 2021 film.
