Continue ReadingSince we added the 2024 class, it has been evident that some prospects have stood out more than others. In this short time frame, some of these players have managed to overcome others that were previously listed above them in our initial rankings. Whether it was due to game time performances, or the talent in which they have displayed on the stage in which they were given the opportunity, it was certainly enough for these prospects to gain even more recognition. What will continue to prove to be interesting will be the question of if these prospects can continue to maintain a placement similar to their current ranking as they progress into their junior and senior years. Regardless, at this point of time, their accomplishments are certainly not overlooked, and we think that they will find themselves in successful positions before they graduate.
Sammy Brown Sammy Brown 6'2" | 225 lbs | ATH Jefferson | 2024 State GA (RB)- Jefferson
When toting the rock, Brown has been a very impressive, and consistent piece to his team’s offense. To start, he reads blocks very well, and he uses his burst, and speed to be able to separate from would-be tacklers, and he sees plenty of gains when doing so. Brown plays with a small twitch, and he also runs through tackles well as he runs powerfully behind his pads. This is a direct reflection of his ability to play with good lower body power, and leverage, which can also be seen in his ability to play linebacker for his team. Because of his playing style, and the way he is a versatile part of his team’s ability to win games, he has seen a jump from 16th overall, to 2nd on our new list.
Martavious Collins Martavious Collins 6'4" | 235 lbs | TE Rome | 2024 State GA (TE)- Rome
For a 2024 prospect, Collins has already begun to fill out pretty well for his frame and size. Not only is this already impressive, but he carries his weight well, and is able to use it when throwing blocks, and separating on routes. Collins also plays with good feet, and when the ball is thrown his direction, he catches the ball with clean hands, regardless of the angle, or competitive situation to grab the ball. Collins also does a good job of catching, and getting up field with great balance. What makes this even more impressive is the fact that he does this consistently, which helps his offense to make big plays, and gain great yards. He is undoubtedly one of the best players in his class, and this is the reason in which he has seen his stock climb from 47th in the class, to 10th overall.
Joseph Stone Joseph Stone 5'11" | 180 lbs | DB Grayson | 2024 State GA (RB)- Grayson
Stone has been an absolute stud for Grayson this year, in a year where they have needed backs to step up and replenish their success running the ball. Because of Stone’s impressive performance, he has jumped from 37th on our list, to 11th overall. This season, he has shown the ability to run with great balance, speed, and burst. He also has a good vision of the field when sifting through the second level, and he also hits the hole incredibly well for a young back. When running through the tackles, he runs with a command of the game, and he also can be seen to catch the ball well out of the backfield, opening the offense up even more for his team. As he gets older, we are excited to see how he can develop, as he is certainly a power 5 worthy player, with the skills to be an every down back.
Kameron Davis Kameron Davis 5'10" | 190 lbs | RB Dougherty | 2024 State GA (QB)- Dougherty
Out of all of our stock risers, Davis is one of our favorite prospects out of all of the classes who has seen their stock rise this past season. From our last update, he has jumped from 12 on the list, to number 8, and this is due to plenty of valid reasons. In the past season, he has developed as a passer, and plenty of times, you can see that the plays he makes with his arm are much more polished. As a young prospect, he throws for impressive deep, and intermediate completions, and he also sees himself do so with great ball placement. In doing so, Davis also plays with an athletic style, as he is able to use his legs to help him get up the field, and gain yards for his team. Not only does this help him to open up the game for his team, but he also uses this to his ability, because it makes it easier for him to view, and read the field as the game progresses. As he continues to develop, we would like to see him develop a bit of a better pocket presence, better footwork, and an ability to get the ball out quicker.
