The 2024 rankings are out and with that, we’ve got a ton of amazing defensive players who deserve recognition. Here, we’ll dive into the best defensive players at each position!
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>LB1 - [player_tooltip player_id="187999" first="Jeremiah" last="Beasley"] (#5 overall)</strong></span>
Belleville produces incredible athletes and Beasley is the next great Belleville linebacker, as well as ATH on offense. He can do it all standing at 6’2" 210lbs, sporting elite size, power, and play recognition for his age. Beasley plays with a ton of heart and passion, just like his teammates and coaching staff. With a ton of his teammates headed to power-5 schools, he’ll have the opportunity to really write his own story next season and in 2023.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">DB1 - [player_tooltip player_id="77223" first="Jacob" last="Oden"] (#2 overall)</span></strong>
Oden is an elite DB prospect from another powerhouse school, Harper Woods. Man, Zone, covering slants, streaks, fade, post, you name it, Oden has you locked down. Oden has that X-Factor that few hold. A unique set of talent and hard work marry to achieve a harmoniously lethal set of skills. He went against some amazing talent this year, and he did more than hold his own each and every time. With offers from many amazing power-5 schools, Oden is set up for a great athletic future.

<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>DL1 - [player_tooltip player_id="80954" first="Brandon" last="Davis-Swain"] (#4 overall) </strong></span>
Standing at 6’3" 215lbs, Davis-Swain is developing into quite the athlete. With 5 division 1 offers, this guy is already getting plenty of attention having started and played against elite competition in the OAA Red. He and his team are always in the running for a state championship, and I really can’t wait to watch him in person next season.
<strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">ATH1 - [player_tooltip player_id="187991" first="Jamir" last="Benjamin"] (#6 overall)</span></strong>
Playing alongside Davis-Swain at West Bloomfield is [player_tooltip player_id="187991" first="Jamir" last="Benjamin"], an incredible athlete who contributes a ton of the offensive and defensive side. Benjamin is mainly a defensive back, where he’s absolutely lockdown with his elite technique and blazing fast speed. Already with offers from countless D1 programs, Benjamin is going to be a cornerstone of West Bloomfield in 2022.
