Looking over the 2023 class of Prep RedZone Arkansas prospects recently, plenty of talented players caught my eye. The 2023 class in the state of Arkansas has the potential to be an extremely talented one in the state of Arkansas. Normally, this type of article would look at a certain position grouping, however with this one, it is a general article about a few prospects that could explode in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="205766" first="Joe" last="Trusty"]-Quarterback-Alma-6’3” 215-Pounds
The Alma quarterback has an impressive arm. Trusty throws with plenty of touch, however, he can also throw the football with some heat. The 2021 season was a strong one for the Alma signal caller. He threw for 2,202 yards and 19 touchdowns on the season. However, Trusty was not just a quarterback that can hurt you throwing the football. He displayed a willingness to run the football when the opportunity presented itself. Trusty rushed for 549 yards and six touchdowns. Trusty is a quarterback to pay attention to as we enter the year 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="180294" first="JT" last="Tomescko"]-Defensive Back-Bentonville-6’3” 170-Pounds
I had the opportunity to see Bentonville play several times during the 2021 season and one player that I continued to be impressed with Tomescko. He is a playmaker on both sides of the ball, but he is particularly dangerous lurking in the defensive secondary. The impressive feature about his game is that he is not just a defensive back that focuses on picking off the pass. Tomescko is a defensive back that is more than happy to make the tackle. He is a player that has the potential to have a huge 2022 season and it will be fun to see where all the Bentonville coaching staff lines him up next season.
[player_tooltip player_id="133658" first="Logan" last="Love"]-Defensive Line-Quittman-6’3” 210-Pounds
The Quittman Bulldog defensive lineman is a tenacious lineman. Love is a disruptive player to opposing offensive lines and does a good job of getting into the offensive backfield. He uses his speed to defeat the offensive lineman and shutdown the opposing running game. The potential is there for Love to continue to get quicker and stronger and become a bigger nightmare for opposing offensive lines to deal with over the next few months. Keep an eye on Love, the young man has plenty of potential.
[player_tooltip player_id="75142" first="Cooper" last="Darr"]-Defensive Line-Shiloh Christian-6’4” 220-Pounds
One facet of [player_tooltip player_id="75142" first="Cooper" last="Darr"]’s game I love is that he plays with a mean streak. Darr has the talent and speed to destroy plays for the opposing offense. If the opposing offensive line does not account for him, Darr has the talent to set up shop in the opposing backfield. He is a strong defensive lineman and his versatility along the defensive front is going to be great for him in 2023. The Shiloh Christian staff can move Darr to the edge or tackle position and he is extremely effective at either position. Look out for a big season from Darr in 2022.
[player_tooltip player_id="236120" first="King" last="Webb"]-Linebacker-Lakeside-5’10” 200-Pounds
Webb is an extremely disruptive linebacker that can dismantle an opponent’s rushing attack. The Lakeside linebacker uses his speed well and he is rarely out of position. Webb is always around the football. He does a great job of bringing the ball carrier down and he will not miss tackles or get sloppy in his tackling. Webb is one player that has the potential to have a monster 2022 season. Keep an eye on Webb, he’s got the talent to be a special player next season.
