Taking a deeper look into the 2022 QB prospects rising up the newly released PRZ Rankings. [player_tooltip player_id="141901" first="Dominique" last="Lampkin"], QB, Serra Lampkin led Serra to the CIF Open Division State Championship with his versatile athleticism and natural arm talent. His explosive playmaking potential with both his arm and his legs make him extremely difficult to stop and contain for opposing defenses. Very fluid with his movement and delivery, flashing plus arm strength and touch on the deep ball. Shows great ability to escape pressure and use his speed and elusiveness to make plays with his legs when protection breaks down or on designed runs. His athleticism makes him an intriguing college prospect with the skillset that could transition to multiple positions at the college level. Most recently offered by New Mexico but also holds offers from Idaho, Fresno State, and Illinois State. https://twitter.com/DominiqueLampk4/status/1473460528877948933?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="25328" first="Tyler" last="Voss"], QB, Valencia The 6'3” 185 lb. San Jose State signee has been consistently rising up the PRZ rankings over the last year. He's an excellent pocket passer with a live arm capable of making accurate and precise throws at all three depths with velocity and touch. He shows great rhythm in the pocket with his movement, footwork, and delivery as he goes through his progression. Possesses an accelerated release that allows him to get the ball out quick but also shows he can throw from different off balance platforms without sacrificing accuracy and velocity. A deceptive athlete that can throw on the run and make plays with his legs escaping pressure or on designed runs. Signed with San Jose State on early signing day over offers from Colorado State and Florida Atlantic. https://twitter.com/SanJoseStateFB/status/1471143165788778496?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="141926" first="Anthony" last="Garcia"], QB, Capital Christian The dual-sport athlete (football/basketball) is one of the top players in northern California after a big senior season with 3,400 total yards and 41 touchdowns. At 6'3” 185 lbs. he's a gifted athlete that can run and throw with a high football IQ. He understands coverage and sees the field extremely well while being smart with the football, evident by throwing only four interceptions on 250 attempts. His arm strength and accuracy allows him to hit his spots and place the ball where his receivers can run after the catch. Love his ability to improvise and create something out of nothing when protection breaks down. One of the top unsigned 2022 QB's in the state that holds seven D1 offers most recently from San Jose State just last week. https://twitter.com/AnthonygarciaQB/status/1445869310350532608?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="187266" first="Kyle" last="Crum"], QB, Norco Crum was one of the best kept secrets in the state going into the 2021 season. Against some of the top competition in the state he put up huge numbers throwing for 2,600 yards and 22 touchdowns while rushing for almost 500 yards and another eight scores. Shows good ability and composure as a pocket passer but is at his best when he's playing freely and can create using his excellent athleticism and arm talent. Flashes great body control and coordination to throw off different platforms and varying arm angles to throw an accurate and catchable ball. He's also an exciting player to watch as he escapes pressure and makes plays with his legs. Finally received some well-deserved attention this season and ultimately signed with San Diego State on Early Signing Day. https://twitter.com/AztecFB/status/1471146541985320960?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="25295" first="Logan" last="Gonzalez"], QB, Orange Lutheran The Orange Lutheran QB was exceptional all season playing in the toughest league in the country. He finished first in the league, second in the state, and 15th in nation in passing yards with just under 4,000 while throwing 47 touchdowns. At 6'3” 195 lbs. he possesses a long frame and a good combination of natural arm talent and mechanics that allows him to make strong accurate throws all over the field. He shows a great ability to mix up velocities and hit his targets in stride with good timing both in the pocket and on the run. Does an excellent job seeing coverage and manipulating defenders with his eyes and shoulder movement to create open throwing lanes. Holds a handful of offers to pick from currently but still under recruited and has a great skillset for the D1 college level with tons of upside and potential. https://twitter.com/LoganGonzo9/status/1467583095310151686?s=20 [player_tooltip player_id="141991" first="Delaney" last="Crawford"], QB, Corona Crawford is an explosive playmaker with elite level speed. He's one of the top sprinters in the state clocking in a 100m of 10.5 and a 21.4 200m as a junior. Possesses good size at 6'3” 180 lbs. with versatile athleticism that will transition well to the college level. Does a great job running the RPO making quick and decisive reads while using his speed and elusiveness to make defenders miss in the open field. He's a developing passer that can throw the deep ball with touch and layer it over the top of defenders. Signed to Virginia on Early Signing Day over offers from Missouri State, Morgan State, and Sam Houston. It'll be interesting to see how the Cavaliers use his versatility and speed at the Power 5 level. https://twitter.com/VirginiaSports/status/1471176981605724173?s=20
Be sure to follow Jordan Reyes and Prep Redzone CA for more PRZ content and news for California High School Football. Want to be ranked?
