It’s never too late to make an impact or show up our radar, as these players show. These seniors had strong seasons and landed on our rankings because of it. Here we feature a few that caught our eye.
[player_tooltip player_id="147899" first="Amir" last="Dallas Mills-James"], 6’ 165, QB- Southeast Raleigh
Mills-James made his debut as a starter in the spring and upped his game in the fall with a strong season. He displays excellent awareness in the pocket and has a strong arm for his size. He can throw while stationary and from odd arm angles and on the run.
[player_tooltip player_id="143074" first="Christian" last="Contreras"], 6’3 300, OL- Hiberten
Contreras has been a strong player for a few years, but he’s taken his game to another level as a senior. A bruising run-blocker, Contreras is perfect for Hiberten’s Wing T-influenced offense. Simply put, he flashes the ability to blow people off the line of scrimmage and create huge holes for his running backs.
[player_tooltip player_id="142044" first="Gamael" last="Dorsainvil"], 5’7 160, Ath.- Garner
Dorsainvil first appeared on our radar in the spring, but cemented his place in the rankings with a great senior season. He plays all over the field, but excels as an underneath receiver with impressive route-running skills. He shows a lot of shiftiness as a route-runner and really gets open.
[player_tooltip player_id="148058" first="Caleb" last="Kelly"], 6’ 175, DB- Walkertown
Kelly, like the other guys on our list, had a strong senior year. A multi-sport athlete, Kelly had a pair of interceptions and six pass deflections over the course of the season. He’s big and physical, but can also run with most receivers.
[player_tooltip player_id="211606" first="Connor" last="Schepereel"], 5’11 205, RB- Fuquay-Varina
Schepereel is a bruising fullback that breaks a lot of tackles for Fuquay. Unlike a lot of other fullbacks, he shows some shiftiness in the open field, and can run away from linebackers. After averaging nearly six yards a carry, it’s clear why he’s in the rankings.
[player_tooltip player_id="171518" first="Jamarion" last="Montford"], 5’11 170, Ath.- West Carteret
We’ve known about Montford for a while and we’ve watched him steadily improve for the last year. He had a strong showing at the VTO All-America challenge and the move to quarterback really worked. He was more than capable as a passer and was borderline dominant as a runner. Oh, he also picked up 26 tackles, intercepted a pass and returned kicks. He’s getting better every time we see him.
