District 23 possesses a plethora of quarterbacks who had a great and efficient 2021 season. These guys are flying under the radar and have the talent for the next level. [player_tooltip player_id="131815" first="Bryce" last="Fucik"] | 6’2 175lbs | 2023 | Strake Jesuit Strake Jesuit’s [player_tooltip player_id="131815" first="Bryce" last="Fucik"] led the district in passing with 2,548 yards and 29 touchdowns. He loves to push the ball deep, especially when extending the play. Fucik can move around in the pocket well, but he likes to keep his eyes down the field. He did add four touchdowns on the ground but is always looking to sling the ball. He’s an accurate passer and has some flashy highlights off-platform throws where the ball with velocity and precise ball placement. Between his big-play arm and agility in the pocket, that has drawn some D1 interest. With another year left, he will surely draw more national attention. [player_tooltip player_id="131815" first="Bryce" last="Fucik"] 2021 highlights: Hudl Colin Johnson | 6’4 180lbs | 2023 | Pearland Dawson Leading his team to a playoff birth off his arm talent was Colin Johnson. The Dawson gunslinger has great anticipation where he displays his accuracy. He works very well on the sideline as his passes are in perfect position for the receiver to haul it in. Johnson works the intermediate level of the field like a seasoned veteran. He does a great job of not staring down his target and moves the safeties and defense with his eyes. When he does this it opens up the field more and therefore, he doesn’t put the ball in harm’s way. Johnson moves around in the pocket to keep himself clean and he likes to keep his eyes down the football field to look for more yards. His 1.995 yards, 17 touchdowns, and two interceptions are a testament to his accuracy and decision-making. Colin Johnson’s 2021 highlights: Hudl Duke Bulter | 6’1 170lbs | 2023 | Shadow Creek All throughout the season, you saw Butler have a great command of his intermediate ball. Butler was very accurate while striking before his receivers come out their breaks. The junior moves around well and delivers an accurate ball on the move. While on the move, he has shown to have his feet and shoulder ready to fire at all times. Butler’s tape has some nice high arcing deep passes on there as well. On those balls, you see the placement is out in front of the receiver and not in contention for the defense to make a play on. He finished out with 1,891 passing yards, 29 TD, and six interceptions in 2021, sharing the 23-6A passing touchdown title. Duke Butler’s 2021 highlights: Hudl [player_tooltip player_id="60838" first="Chase" last="Jenkins"] | 6’0 185lbs | 2023 | Alief Taylor One of the most exciting dual threats in the area is Alief Taylor’s, [player_tooltip player_id="60838" first="Chase" last="Jenkins"]. This electric quarterback is a consistent threat in both phases of the game. Defenses must account for him not only in the air but also on the ground. He posted three games over 100 rushing yards and finished with 695 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on the ground. This young man is shifty, has great body control, and finds the endzone. His tape tells the story of his improvisational skills. Passing-wise, he’s smart with the ball only turning it over once through the air. He works all three levels of the field and likes to try to find his receivers on the scramble drill. For a dual-threat style quarterback, he’s a developed passer with a stronger arm than most anticipate. Jenkins finished out his season with 1,800 passing yards and 17 TD and currently holds an offer from Deion Sanders’ Jackson State. [player_tooltip player_id="60838" first="Chase" last="Jenkins"]’ 2021 highlights: Hudl [player_tooltip player_id="125229" first="Jake" last="Sock"] | 6’3 185lbs | 2022 | Pearland Pearland’s [player_tooltip player_id="125229" first="Jake" last="Sock"] improved all throughout the 2021 campaign. As the leader of his team, he always seemed to rally his Oilers back. Sock thrives off the RPO game with his quick decision-making. He can throw on the run, he can stand in the pocket and fire a nice ball, and can provide a little spark in the run game. When Sock moves around what really impresses the eye is that he finds receivers that move the sticks. In the second half of the season, he cut down the turnovers and started to find his grove, became an effective passer, and led his team to the playoffs. Sock is a well-balanced signal caller that can do anything that he’s asked to do. Sock put up 1,706 yards, 17TD, and 10INT in the air in 2021 while adding 303 yards and three TD on the ground. [player_tooltip player_id="125229" first="Jake" last="Sock"]’s 2021 highlights: Hudl
