As the season is coming to a close, plenty of teams are prepping for their final regular season game, as well as the playoffs. So far, the 4 players below have led the entire state in receiving, and we expect them to continue to add to these totals before the season concludes. Below, feel free to take some time to check out each of these prospects, as we also believe that this will not be the last time that you see their names. [player_tooltip player_id="145593" first="Jaden" last="Gibson"] (WR)- Rabun County (1,497 yards) Not only has Gibson been a reliable asset for his QB, but he leads the entire state in receiving yards at this point of the season. He has already totaled 1,497 yards, and 13 TD’s. In addition to this, he averages about 149 yards a game, with an average of 22 yards a catch. This average, as well as his total of yards so far this year, is a large result of big games, such as his game last Friday against Union County. In that game, he had 5 catches, for 182 yards, and a TD. The week before this, he had an 11 catch performance for 113 yards and a TD. Because he continues to perform at such a high level, we have no doubt that he will end the year as the state’s leader in receiving. Even now, he has about a 200 yard lead on the second person in this category, which is impressive in itself. Malik Loverett (WR)- Greenbrier (1,249 yards) Impressive enough, Loverett has had a reception yards total of 1,249 yards. This has come with an average of 18.4 yards a reception, which also has contributed to an average of 138 yards a game. To add to this, Loverett has also totaled 8 TD’s this year in the air, with 13 total TD’s as a whole. As Loverett continues to progress through the season, he has also helped his team to a 4-5 record, with an overall regional record of 3-3. Regardless of this losing record, Loverett has done his part and has stood out statewide, and has made himself into one of the best receivers this season. Performances such as his game last week against Jackson County is what has helped him get to this point. Last week, he had a total of 11 catches, 152 receiving yards, and 1 TD. [player_tooltip player_id="224861" first="Kaleb" last="Webb"] (WR)- McEachern (1,139 yards) Even though McEachern has had another off year, [player_tooltip player_id="224861" first="Kaleb" last="Webb"] has not. Not only has he bolstered a total of 1,139 yards to this point of the year, but he has also helped lead his team to a 5-4 record at this point. This includes 3 regional wins that has contributed to his overall average of 18.7 yards a catch, and 126 yards a game. In last week’s game against East Coweta, Webb helped lead his team to a win, and he had 7 catches for 183 yards and 2 TD’s. If he can continue to do this, he may have a shot at second place on this list before it is all said and done. Regardless, we know he will continue to his 18 TD total, with 14 of them being in the air. [player_tooltip player_id="220723" first="Damare" last="Franklin"] (WR)- Veterans (1,001 yards) Franklin, who has already averaged about 15.9 yards a catch, comes in at 4th place on this list with 1,001 yards so far this year. This is largely due to the 111 yards they have averaged per game, which has also contributed to Franklin's 6 total TD's, with 5 of them being in the air. Even though his team's overall record is 2-7, he has managed to do his part, and we think he has a shot at being on the final list when this season is all said and done. Last week, he had 4 catches for 50 yards. The week prior he also had a good performance, as he had 9 receptions for about 107 yards and a TD.
