Week 11: Regular Season Ends

Ever since last season came to an end, the objective was to be a playoff team.
Many programs across Florida reached that goal that they set out to achieve – while others fell short and will use that as motivation moving forward.
When you look at this week’s Top 25 plus, you will see some teams who are on the move, and with the playoffs right around the corner, they are playing their best football.
Here is a look at the latest ranking from Florida Prep Redzone, heading into Week 11:
1. Bradenton IMG Academy (Independent, 8-0). Stayed unbeaten with a tough game against Auburn, Alabama (8-2), 27-17 THIS WEEK: A home game on Friday against Clarkson North, Mississauga, Arkansas.
2. Tampa Jesuit (6A, 8-0). Recorded their third straight shutout in putting away Tampa King, 56-0. THIS WEEK: The final regular season game this Friday at home against 6-2 Tampa Catholic.
3. Miami Central (5A, 7-2). In beating Miami Northwestern for the second time this season, 49-6, the Rockets continued to get ready for a third straight state title. THIS WEEK: The final week will be an off time to get ready for the playoffs.
4. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (7A, 9-1). The Raiders wrapped up yet another district title and ended the regular season with a convincing 49-7 decision. THIS WEEK: They will be off this week to get ready for the playoffs.
5. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (3A, 7-1). In soundly beating No. 25 and previously unbeaten St. Petersburg Lakewood, 37-6, the Lions showed everyone why they are one of the best – in any class. THIS WEEK: For as many games as this team had postponed on them, they will guard against it this week by taking the week off and getting ready for an amazing six straight state title appearances.
6. Sanford Seminole (8A, 9-1). Winning the final four games of the season, the defending 8A state champions easily put away, DeLand, 38-11. THIS WEEK: It will be rest time for the final week – as the Seminoles will enjoy the final week off to get ready for the playoffs.
7. Naples (6A, 9-0). The amazing season continued for the Golden Eagles with a convincing 63-0 win over East Lee County. They have outscored the opposition, 443-45.
THIS WEEK: Will have this week off to get ready for the playoffs.
8. Venice (8A, 8-1). Bounced backs from the loss to Cardinal Gibbons with a solid 42-7 district championship win over rival Riverview. THIS WEEK: Closes out the regular season with a home game against North Fort Myers (5-4).
9. Orlando Edgewater (7A, 8-1). With a seven-game winning streak, the Eagles took this past week off to get ready for the stretch run. THIS WEEK: The traditional regular season finale on Friday on the road with rival Orlando Boone (7-2).
10. Tampa Bay Tech (7A, 9-0). This team always finds a way to win – as they did several times this season, but last week it was all about putting some points up in a victory over Strawberry Crest, 51-9. THIS WEEK: The regular season will come to an end on the road this Friday against (3-6) Tampa Chamberlain.
11. Fort Lauderdale Dillard (7A, 7-1). After a tough loss to national power St. Thomas Aquinas, the Panthers rebounded with an exciting 41-40 win against Plantation.THIS WEEK: The annual Broward Soul Bowl against Blanche Ely on Saturday.
12. Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons (4A, 7-2). The Chiefs continue to tune up for the post season – with a 44-8 road win at Pembroke Pines Flanagan. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a Friday road game at 3-6 Lauderdale Lakes Boyd Anderson.
13. Miami Gulliver Prep (4A, 6-1). Finally getting back on the field, the Raiders showed that they are still a force, beating West Palm Beach Cardinal Newman, 49-13. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a road trip to play 4-5 Orlando Bishop Moore on Friday.
14. Lake Mary (8A, 8-1). Rebounded from the first loss of the season with a 21-6 victory over Oviedo to stay in the hunt in 8A. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home game on Friday against 5-4 Deltona.
15. Niceville (7A, 9-1). Ended the regular season with a No. 1 seed and a huge 35-0 win against Gonzalez Tate. THIS WEEK: The Eagles will take the final week of the regular season off to get ready for another playoff run.
16. Cocoa (4A, 7-1). Continues to be the team that everyone is watching with such as rugged schedule this season – beating defending 6A state runner up Lake Minneola, 42-6 this past week. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with the annual BBQ Bowl in Rockledge against the 8-1 Raiders on Friday night.
17. Lakeland (7A, 8-1). In putting away longtime rival Lakeland Kathleen, 41-14, the Dreadnaughts showed that they are ready for the playoffs. THIS WEEK: One last away tune-up at No. 25 St. Petersburg Lakewood (8-1) on Friday night.
18. Tampa Berkeley Prep (3A, 8-0). The Buccaneers had last week off as they were resting up from a tremendous eight-game stretch. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end on Friday at home against 6-3 Tampa Plant.
19. Miami Killian (5A, 10-0). The 21-9 GMAC Week win against Miami Booker T. Washington gives the Cougars a perfect finish in the regular season. THIS WEEK: Will rest up for a playoff run that will be challenging in a region that is loaded.
20. Ocala Vanguard (6A, 9-0). The Knights finished off Springstead, 33-0, extending their streak to 16 quarters of giving up just two total touchdowns. They have outscored the opposition, 243-46 during this nine-game streak. THIS WEEK: It will be a regular season ender on Friday at home against 3-6 Ocala Forest.
21. Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast (8A, 7-1). The Titans once again showed why they are as good as any 8A team this season, rolling past St. Lucie West Centennial, 42-10. THIS WEEK: They will spend the final week getting ready for a playoff run, looking to extend things further in 2021.
22. Gainesville Buchholz (7A, 8-1). With only a loss to Cardinal Gibbons, this is a program that is turning heads – as the Bobcats rolled over Ocala Forest last week, 75-7. THIS WEEK: It’s a challenging regular season finale at 8A power No. 25 Jacksonville Bartram Trail (8-1) on Friday.
23. Tallahassee Florida State University High (3A, 7-1). Picked up a forfeit win against Tallahassee FAMU High. THIS WEEK: The regular season comes to an end with a home game against Live Oak Suwannee (3-6) on Friday.
24. Lynn Haven Mosley (6A, 9-1). Showing you can never let your guard down, the Dolphins watched their unbeaten regular season slip away, losing in 2 OTs, 23-17 to 2-6 Gadsden County for another playoff run. THIS WEEK: An off week to get ready for the playoffs.
25. St. Petersburg Lakewood (4A, 8-1). The Spartans found out why the No. 5 Chaminade-Madonna Lions have won the 3A state title three of the past four years, as they watched their unbeaten regular season come to an end, 37-6. THIS WEEK: Things do not get an easier as No. 17 Lakeland comes to town for a regular season finale on Friday.
(tie) Winter Garden West Orange (8A, 9-1). After losing to Apopka in the second week of the season, the Warriors ran off eight straight wins, outscoring the opposition, 374-75, including last week’s 21-9 win over Orlando Olympia. THIS WEEK: It will be a week off to get ready for the playoffs.
(tie) St. Johns Bartram Trail (8A, 8-1). The Bears have certainly made a huge statement since losing to Tallahassee Lincoln back on October 10th. Coming off a 50-38 win against Jacksonville Sandalwood, this is a program that could cause some major playoff problems. THIS WEEK: A huge finale coming up on Friday at home against No. 22 (8-1) Gainesville Buchholz.
