1. Greenville Christian (9-1)
The Saints return to action this week after securing a first round bye in the MAIS 3A playoffs last week. It feels like the bunch from Greenville has the remainder of the season on cruise control.
This week: vs. Winona Christian
2. Ocean Springs (9-0)
The Greyhounds locked up the Region 4-6A title last week running for more than 300 yards against Gulfport. Can the Greyhounds finish off an undefeated regular season this week?
This week: at Harrison Central
3. West Point (7-2)
The Green Wave look to polish off another undefeated division slate this week with their sights firmly set on another state championship in 5A.
This week: at Columbus
4. Madison Central (8-1)
The Region 2-6A playoff seeding is a complete mess with a multitude of options still on the table. The Jags only loss is on the road to Starkville weeks ago. Another matchup between the two would be must watch. Big implications this week against an improved Oxford team.
This week: vs. Oxford
5. Starkville (8-1)
After a setback against Oxford two weeks ago, the Jackets won convincingly against Germantown last week. The race between Starkville, Madison Central and Oxford in 2-6A is a fun one to watch.
This week: at Grenada
6. Oak Grove (7-2)
The Warriors are locked into the two seed in Region 3 of 6A after last weeks win over a stout Pearl team. Despite two losses do not count this bunch out. As much sheer talent as anyone in the state.
This week: vs. Northwest Rankin
7. Brandon (7-2)
Last week the Bulldogs got into a slugfest with Northwest Rankin, ultimately coming out winners 50-48 thanks mostly to Nate Blount and his 6 TD’s. The Bulldogs appear to be peaking at the right time but have a tough senior night test this week.
This week: vs. Pearl
8. Neshoba Central (10-0)
Is this the year the Rockets finally have enough firepower to knock down West Point in 5A North? Time will tell as they are done with the regular season and anticipating the start of playoffs next week.
This week: No Game
9. D’Iberville (9-1)
D’Iberville has toyed right around the “other teams considered” part of the rankings all year. Will the Warriors get a shot at Ocean Springs?
This week: at St. Martin
10. South Panola (7-2)
The Tiger defense is elite. No question. The Tiger offense is not. Major questions remain on the offensive side of the ball after dropping a 14-7 OT decision to Horn Lake a week ago.
This week: vs. Center Hill
