Under Recruited Senior Linebackers
Still, looking for a 2022 linebacker? Well, you’ve come to the right place! Today’s article looks at some of Georgia’s most under-recruited Senior linebackers. No, prospects listed here have any FBS offers, but they do have plenty of ability. Look for colleges to take notice following their 2021 campaign. Here’s who to know!
Michael Watson, 6’3″, 220, Langston Hughes
Watson looks like a true mike linebacker and plays like one too. On tape, he shows great anticipation and solid closing speed. He uses raw strength to defeat blockers 1 on 1 and has a violent club as a tackler. He can plug holes between the tackles and will consistently stalemate opposing ball carriers.
Jaylin Berrian, 5’11″, 205, Valdosta
A twitchy inside linebacker with noticeable lateral agility. Berrian breaks on the quarterback well and has the body control to make plays in space. He rarely whiffs on tackle attempts behind the line and will use a gator tackle to bring down his opponent when out leveraged. Jaylin uses his quickness to evade blockers on the second level and is a tough man to get your hands on.
Roberto Bryant, 6′, 200, Collins Hill
A gifted blitzer who plays tough as nails. Bryant is a physical re-router who oftentimes buries opposing wideouts into the turf. He plays with an extremely high motor, and it wasn’t uncommon to see him chase plays down from behind. He plays on the inside right now, but I project him to move to sam linebacker at the next level based on his god-given athletic ability.
Kobe Butts Kobe Butts 5'10" | 200 lbs | LB Mount Desales Academy | 2022 GA , 5’10″, 210, Mount de sales
Don’t let his size fool you; this young man is a thumper! Butts creates consistent penetration when asked to blitz and makes ball carriers pay once he gets his hands on them. He’s a fierce tackler who plays with great knee bend and has shown explosive hips. I think this young man is going to be an absolute steal for one lucky school.
Coleman Cauley, 6’2″, 215, First Presbyterian Day
This is not a typo; Cauley has already totaled 151 tackles this fall. When you turn on the film, you’ll see a swift mover who calmly scrapes down the line. He’s physical at the point of attack against blockers and has shown a potent punch. Coleman is a natural downhill tackler who looks to speed his feet on contact.
Case Barrett, 6’2″, 215, Roswell
A good combination of size, speed, and overall athleticism. Barrett is a hard-nosed prospect that is regularly looking for contact. He’s comfortable dropping to his hook/curl and shows compact breaks once the ball is thrown. As a tackler, he uses his natural strength and size to gobble up opposing ball carriers & stop them immediately in their tracks.
Terrance Hill, 6′, 215, Eagles Landing
A nasty blitzer that looks to run through his opponent. Hill has some serious pop behind his tackles and often times causes ball carriers to jolt backward. He’s a slow creeper through the hole who can quickly accelerate once he sees an opportunity to make a tackle. Terrance is comfortable playing walked up or at the second level & uses vicious hands to defeat blocks.
