Brennan defeated the Bowie Bulldogs 59-36 to advance further into the playoffs. Brennan kept its undefeated streak alive on Friday with the help of both junior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"] and junior wide receiver Aaron Dubose. This tag-team of brothers has gone on a tear all season and they do not look to be slowing down anytime soon.
1. [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"] (JR-QB) - Brennan High School (San Antonio, TX)
Stats: 319 passing yards, 6 passing touchdowns, 78 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown
[player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"] was electric all game and made little to no mistakes. He finished the game with a 61.5 completion percentage and averaged 5.6 yards per carry on the ground. Despite the tough defense of Bowie, [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"] had little to no issues dominating both the ground and air. This game truly showcased why [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"] is an excellent athlete all-around.
2. Aaron Dubose (JR-WR) - Brennan High School (San Antonio, TX)
Stats: 5 receptions, 113 receiving yards, 3 receiving touchdowns
Aaron Dubose did the same as his brother but on the receiving end. He simply could not be stopped and averaged 22.6 yards per reception. This includes a 62-yard grab as well. The Dubose brothers proved to all defenses in Central Texas just how much of a threat they are. More so, how much of a threat Brennan is for winning the state title.
3. Jaheim Lard (SR-WR) - Brennan High School (San Antonio, TX)
Stats: 6 receptions, 86 receiving yards, 2 receiving touchdowns
Another top player not named Dubose, Lard also had an excellent game and was seemingly [player_tooltip player_id="121945" first="Ashton" last="DuBose"]’s favorite target. Lard has scored in every game, except for one, all season. With this trio on the Brennan offense, the Bears are seemingly unstoppable scoring-wise.
