<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Ridge Point Panthers (9-1) vs. Seven Lake Spartans (7-3) </span></strong></span>
<strong style="font-size: 1rem;"><em>November 11th @ 7:00pm</em></strong>
The Ridge Point Panthers go into the matchup riding a 7 game win streak behind a very strong defense who do not allow much to opponents and allowing just 15 points per game. The defense is led by senior leader linebacker Mason Hall, junior ball hawking defensive back Taylor Davis, and junior edge setting linebacker James Walley who are just a few names from the tough defense. Offensively the Panthers are led b senior signal caller Bert Emmanuel, who had a fantastic senior campaign showing his athleticism using both his legs and arm to dissect defenses, and was also mistake free throwing the ball on the year with no interceptions. Junior running back Ezell Jolly and senior receiver Marvin Sessions also play a huge role on this potent offense as well as their hogs up front who get the job done. The Panthers averaged about 42 points per game with a well balanced attack.
The Seven Lake Spartans are entering the game on a 2 game win streak behind senior do it all athlete Grayson Medford, who is a threat to score at any moment and sophomore workhorse running back Barrett Hudson. With the help of those two in the backfield, the Spartans offense averaged about 24 points per game. The defense is led by the very active senior linebacker Scott Stanford and junior defensive back Bryce Turner, as well as some other key players who make plays when needed.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Cypress Ranch Mustangs (6-3) vs. Klein Oak Panthers (5-5)</span></strong></span>
<em><strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">November 12th @ 7:00pm</span></strong></em>
This matchup should really being an exciting one as two extremely talented teams face off. We have the Cypress Ranch Mustangs, who seem to have weapons everywhere offensively led by junior gun slinger Blake Baker who impressed this year passing as well as running. The Mustangs have a dangerous backfield with senior running backs Kameron Burton and Dillon Eugene wearing down defenses, and electric weapons at the receiver position with big play hitters, junior Jared Sample and senior Dylan Caddle, as well as junior Cameron Collier. The Mustang offense has put up an average of almost 42 points per game. Defensively the Mustangs are stacked with talent at all levels. Led by senior linebacker who seems to be everywhere, Teylan Nelson and senior linebacker Joe White, the Mustangs are a fly to the ball team. The defensive line makes incredible plays when needed, with seniors Chibby Nwajuaku and Jonavon Dennis, as well as Ashton Porter and the secondary gets after it with Josh Ciers leading the team in interceptions.
The Klein Oak Panthers are coming in hot on a 2 game win streak and are looking like the team we expected them to be with incredibly talented junior quarterback PJ Hatter and junior receiver [player_tooltip player_id="60893" first="Kaleb" last="Black"]. Hatter gives opposing defenses fits and can be a serious problem when not contained. Black makes secondaries look foolish and when both of them are on, good luck trying to stop them. The Panther defense will be looked upon to slow down the NASCAR pace Mustang offense, but expect them to be ready. It is all or nothing now so expect both teams to leave it out on the field.
<span style="text-decoration: underline;"><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>The Woodlands Highlanders (8-2) vs. Spring Lions (9-1)</strong></span></span>
<em><strong><span style="font-size: 1rem;">November 12th @ 7:00pm</span></strong></em>
I expect this game to be one of the best first round matchups. Two quarterbacks who were top in the Houston area this season and who can take a game over with their awareness and skills. Spring’s quarterback, senior Bishop Davenport, has been nothing short of amazing this season. He has torched defenses all year long, averaging 326 passing yards a game, and has two excellent weapons in senior receivers Travis Sims Jr. and [player_tooltip player_id="60776" first="Cadyn" last="Bradley"]. The Lion offense puts up an impressive 47 points per game behind great blocking and execution. The talented defense is led by seniors, defensive lineman Gerrod Henderson who is an absolute force on the line, lockdown defensive back Jefferey Foster, agile and active linebacker Darryl Doherty and vicious junior lineman [player_tooltip player_id="136157" first="Elijah" last="Fields"]. The Lion defense played outstanding throughout the season and limited teams to 9 points per game.
The Highlander offense averaged 40 points per game during the season behind excellent play from phenomenal sophomore quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="146594" first="Mabrey" last="Mettauer"], elusive workhorse senior running back [player_tooltip player_id="131370" first="Jobarre" last="Reed"], and sure handed senior receiver Ben Ferguson. These three are the focal point in the high powered offense. The Highlander will have their hands full with the Lion offense, but with them allowing 20 points a game you know they will be ready for the challenge.
