If you can make big throws over and over again, week after week, especially in the peach state, you can surely find somewhere to play at the next level. There are way too many colleges sleeping on a number of 2022 QBs in Georgia right now.
Here are some top “under the radar” 2022 QBs in Georgia.
Robbie Roper Robbie Roper 6'3" | 210 lbs | QB Roswell | 2022 State GA – Roswell
It’s a shame that a single D1 school hasn’t taken a chance on Roper yet. One of the top senior QBs in the area, Roper is having an excellent senior season and has shown the ability to make big plays with his arm down the field. He moves well in the pocket, he’s mobile, and he can accurately throw on the run. He can turn a broken play into a big one and absolutely has the talent to play somewhere at the next level. He’s missed some time during the year to an injury, but so far this season, Roper has thrown for just over 2,000 yards and 22 touchdowns. He had a monster game against rival Milton two weeks ago in a loss, throwing for 4 TDs against one of the top defenses in 7A while not getting sacked the entire game. He’s a player to keep an eye on over the next several weeks.
Kyle Durham Kyle Durham 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Johns Creek | 2022 GA – Johns Creek
Another impressive sleeper QB in metro-Atlanta, Durham is an experienced QB who knows how to play the position. He has a reliable, accurate arm and throws the ball downfield with nice touch. He can hurt defenses with his legs as well, especially around the goal-line, but he’s also shown he can win games with his arm. Johns Creek is 7-2 right now and the offense is really starting to click. Durham’s squad has scored 37 points or more in the last six games and playing their best ball at just the right time. On the season, Durham has thrown for over 1,400 yards and 16 touchdowns. He’s also rushed 43 times for 297 yards and 7 touchdowns. He recently earned an offer from Jacksonville State.
Brooks Pangle – Greenbrier
One of the top QBs in East Georgia, Pangle has good size at 6-foot-2 180-pounds and moves really well in the pocket. He has a strong arm, but more importantly, he’s accurate. He’s great as consistently putting the ball where it needs to be down the field and was excellent in the red-zone. He’s a smart player and always found a way to make plays when his team needed him too. He ranked No.8 in the state in passing yards last season and was No.5 in the state in passing touchdowns. He’s backed that up with a strong senior season so far this year, throwing for 2,610 yards and 20 touchdowns to just one INT. Pangle has thrown for over 750 yards and 7 touchdowns in the last two games, proving he’s still one of the bigger sleeper senior QBs in the state.
Christon Lane – Warner Robins
He may not be the biggest or fastest quarterback around, but the senior from Middle Georgia has had a knack for making big throws all season long. Whoever plays QB at Warner Robins seems to have an excellent season and we’re seeing that from Lane so far this fall. He throws an accurate deep ball and has this offense perfected by now. He gets the ball to his playmakers and has been very efficient with the ball so far this season. Through his first 8 games, Lane is 95/145 for 1,678 yards and has thrown for 22 touchdowns. He’s a pure pocket passer and a good decision maker, only throwing 3 INTs on the year. He’s also led one of the top offenses across the state as the Demons have scored at least 48 points in every game but two this season.
