[player_tooltip player_id="187260" first="Malik" last="Blackmon"], Orange Lutheran, 2022
Orange Lutheran is a very well-balanced team that had seven different players catch a pass in a semifinal win over Sierra Canyon. That is typical for the Lancers and it sometimes it makes it hard for skill players to stand out. Blackmon has stood out lately and had a nice game in the semifinals with 136 yards on 10 receptions with two touchdowns. He had a big game in the first round against Simi Valley as well. He is undersized at below six feet and around 175 pounds, but he has the athleticism to play at the next level.

Samuel Gbata Jr., Temecula Valley, 2022
Gbata Jr. eclipsed the 1,000 yard receiving mark for the season and is far and away the best receiver for Temecula Valley. He caught 11 passes for 187 yards and a touchdown in the semifinals against Camarillo. He has been outstanding the past two weeks and has a tough matchup against a good Newport Harbor secondary. But he is no stranger to tough matchups playing in a league with top talent.

[player_tooltip player_id="25296" first="Rex" last="Haynes"], Cathedral Catholic, 2022
Cathedral Catholic only completed five passes in the San Diego Open Division championship game against Carlsbad but they definitely made them count. Haynes caught four of those passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns. He is one of the best athletes in San Diego and when the Dons go up to play a Southern Section team in the regional playoff, he is one of the guys that can hang with the athletes at Alemany or Orange Lutheran.

[player_tooltip player_id="142012" first="Xavier" last="Van"]. Helix, 2022
Helix played a very competitive game against El Camino in the San Diego Section Division 1 semifinals. The Highlanders only threw the ball 10 times and Van picked up the majority of the yardage. The senior caught four passes for 97 yards and three touchdowns for the powerhouse program who is no stranger to championship games. Helix will play a loaded Lincoln team for the Division 1 championship.
