The Missouri High School Class 5 football playoffs have unfolded almost exactly as the seedings would have predicted, with very few upsets along the way, and the semifinal results last weekend have produced eight districts where the top two seeds will meet for the district championship.
<strong style="font-size: 1rem;">DISTRICT 1</strong>

<strong>Notes: </strong>Reigning Class 5 champion Jackson rolled over fifth-seeded Mehlville, 59-9, in the district semifinals after receiving a first-round bye. The Indians scored 28 points in the first quarter and 52 in the first half. ... Junior QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="101699" first="Cole" last="Ruble"]</strong> fueled Seckman’s offense in the district semifinals against upset-minded Poplar Bluff, but it was the Jaguars defense that needed to come up big with a stop of a 2-point conversion run to secure a 35-34 victory and berth in the district title game. Ruble finished with 248 yards rushing and three touchdowns on 34 carries. He has scored 30 touchdowns in 11 games and also thrown for 13 touchdowns. Senior WR <strong>Ty Kitchen</strong> added two touchdown runs after scoring twice in the quarterfinal win over Cape Central.
<strong>DISTRICT 2</strong>

<strong>Notes:</strong> Rockwood Summit kept rolling behind a big effort from senior QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="172272" first="Mason" last="Brown"]</strong>. Brown threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns as the Falcons defeated Lafayette 27-0. Brown connected with senior WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="99928" first="Drew" last="Krobath"]</strong> for nine receptions for 155 and two touchdowns and found senior WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="174950" first="Camden" last="Pye"]</strong> for six catches for 104 yards and a touchdown. Sophomore RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="126255" first="Elijah" last="Stevens"]</strong> rushed for 89 yards and a score on just nine carries. The Summit defense stepped up as well. Krobath intercepted two passes. Stevens added an interception. Senior DT <strong>Henry Armstrong</strong> recorded three sacks. Senior DE <strong>Matt Mehrhoff</strong> had nine tackles and two sacks. ... Lafayette standout senior DE <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96227" first="Tommy" last="Hagan"]</strong> recorded 16 tackles in the loss. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder, who is also an accomplished wrestler, finished his senior season with 130 tackles and 13 sacks in 11 games. ... Eureka junior RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="199041" first="Kevin" last="Emmanuel"]</strong> rushed for 309 yards and four touchdowns on 42 carries to lead the Wildcats to a 28-17 victory over Ladue. Emmanuel, one of the biggest breakout performers in the state this fall, is up to 1,640 rushing yards, 1,757 total yards and 27 total touchdowns through 11 games. ... Junior WR <strong>Braden Miller</strong> caught two passes for 84 yards and two scores. ... Chaminade rolled over Fort Zumwalt South 42-12 behind a strong rushing attack that racked up 358 yards. Senior ATH <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="37535" first="Cameron" last="Epps"]</strong> rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. Junior running backs <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="232273" first="Cade" last="Muscia"]</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="232276" first="Nathan" last="Bartel"]</strong> took over in the second half. Muscia scored twice in the third quarter and finished with 163 yards rushing on 32 carries. Bartel scored twice in the fourth and finished with 93 yards on 15 carries. ...
