KYMSFA All-Star Tryouts: 2026 Offensive Standouts

<span style="font-size: 1rem;">The feeling in the air was electric at West Jessamine High School for the annual KYMSFA post-season all-star event tryouts . The 8th graders (class of 2026) was the largest group of the day, as hundreds of players and spectators waited to register and showcase their abilities. The talent pool was deep with this group. Coaches had their hands full due to the shear amount of athletes that showed up but nonetheless, here are some of the top offensive players we saw.</span> <img class="alignnone alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/18752C25-79BD-4271-8F2F-612BF846174D-e1636847090283.jpeg" width="206" height="218" /> <strong><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Daveionne Debruce | Running Back</span></strong> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">A small running back with an aggressive cut back. Debruce is an extremely hard back to get your hands on as his speed is a great equalizer. Currently attends Caudill Middle School, but is certainly someone Madison Central High fans can be on the look out for next year.</span> &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/4B1647F3-C94F-4D35-B5F0-5D27A2118CD2-e1636847520102.jpeg" width="205" height="229" /> <strong>Colin Daniels | Quarterback</strong> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">If you like a quarterback who can see over the line, this is your guy. Colin has a cannon for an arm and his accuracy is spot on. He’s quick on the scramble, but not afraid to stay in the pocket and give his receivers time to get open. Daniels is a student at Christian Academy of Louisville who have a reputation of producing great quarterbacks.</span> &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/FD5C5678-8AAF-4516-B649-2C1D69B5C59B-e1636847773246.jpeg" width="205" height="218" /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="212338" first="Trey" last="Sedgwick"] | Wide Receiver</strong> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Trey is a muscular receiver with who has soft hands and the ability to make big plays. Lightning quick off the line, but would make an excellent tight end as well. A current student at Bromine Middle School, Sedgwick will be making a statement on the field next year at Madisonville High School.</span> &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/19777967-F7EA-4038-9E7F-2F84B294306E-e1636847932940.jpeg" alt="" width="205" height="229" /> <strong>JayQuan Crawford | Running Back</strong> <span style="font-size: 14pt;"> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Crawford is a a nightmare for your typical defense because he is bigger than most kids. His size and physique demands attention and that’s what it got. Excellent ball security and definitely a threat up the middle. It will be exciting to see his production  next year at Franklin County High School, as Elkhorn Middle School will be sad to see him go.</span></span> &nbsp; <img class="alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/31C130EB-DD96-4B25-9645-F88523C52061-e1636848069502.jpeg" width="205" height="208" /> <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="212335" first="Easton" last="Jointer"] | Quarterback</strong> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">Easton is a mobile quarterback with a nasty stiff arm. He thinks fast on his feet when pressure is applied. Jointer is not afraid to put a pass into tight coverage or to make the decision to run while holding defenders at bay with arm pumps. [player_tooltip player_id="212335" first="Easton" last="Jointer"] will be a great addition to Franklin County High’s program next year.</span> &nbsp; <img class="alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/F5CCF11A-6E20-4B64-8E9B-DC3B38F9E2A7-e1636848237733.jpeg" width="205" height="205" /> <strong>Cole Rose | Wide Receiver</strong> <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Rose is receiver with explosive speed of the line and the rarest of all attributes, he’s a great blocker. Cole had soft hands and the ability to real in high passes or in some cases even bad passes. He seemed to be one step ahead of any coverage they put on him. Rose is a standout at McNabb Middle School and will be taking his talents to Montgomery County High for his freshman year</span>. </span><span style="font-size: 14pt;"> </span> <img class="alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/FD8247AB-9874-409E-BAF4-4D1687B95CCA-e1636848405186.jpeg" width="205" height="220" /> <strong>Derrek Dees | Quarterback</strong> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">A clear and decisive pocket passer, Dees has a laser for an arm. His timing on digs and curl routes are impeccable. Get’s the ball out quick as he goes through his progressions with his receivers. Derrek has phenomenal mechanics and a classic arm. Derrek is a student/athlete at East Oldham Middle School and will be attending Oldham County High in the future.</span> &nbsp; &nbsp; <img class="alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2021/11/90AA3C11-5428-4AA0-8685-3E60F93CE02E-e1636848555545.jpeg" width="205" height="189" /> <strong>Brooks Kighlinger | Wide Receiver</strong> <span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">An enormous presence on the field, Brooks is strong running back with freakish power. He runs with a low center of gravity and gets behind his pads to bowl over anything that gets in his way. Gets up the field with purpose and effectiveness. Kighlinger will also be honing his skills at Oldham County High School next year. </span>  </span> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;
