At Warren Fitzgerald on Friday night, that intensity was on display as De La Salle hosted Grosse Pointe South in week two of the MHSAA playoffs.</p> <p>It was a physical matchup that the Pilots won in the trenches. Both teams have some tough players on the inside, with playmaking outside that is a treat to watch. The Blue Devils came out stout against the run game, De La Salle’s strong suit offensively. That set the tone for the rest of the game, and it was exciting to watch.</p> <p>De La Salle ended up winning 35-20 after utilizing the run game late. The Blue Devils of Grosse Pointe South played their hearts out, and the score is not a reflection of how close it was until late in fourth.</p> <p>As a scout, you want to see players tested physically to see how they react. It’s a different game when the physicality is notched up, and both teams displayed plenty of it.
