Though we have already released our Official GFL 6th Grade FBU National Championship Preview, it’s important we report on the tryout this past weekend. There are a number of prospects highlighted in this review that aren’t in that article. Georgia is loaded once again and there are many in the 2028 class who already look like future D1 prospects. It’s safe to say this group of players, that are going for the second three-peat in the tournament’s history, did not disappoint.
Camron Middleton | Offensive Line
One of the largest prospects in the 2028 tryouts, Middleton was easy to notice due to his height, length, and overall frame for someone his size. He’s strong, has quick feet, and knows how to drive guys backwards. He’s dominant at this level and has all the potential of a bright young offensive lineman. If he keeps growing and developing, the sky is the limit for this young 2028 lineman.
Gavin Hollum | Quarterback
The leader at QB, Hollum is a kid who knows how to win. He’s been a winner with the Atlanta Ducks and plays beyond his years when the pads come on. He’s a nice athlete and has a big, strong arm for someone his age. He looks so advanced and is poised to make a name for himself down the road.
Allan Moise | Tight End
One of the best performers in the 6th grade tryout, Allen caught everything thrown to him when Prep Redzone Next has eyes on him. He finds the ball well in the air and can contort his body for the easy catch. He’s a smooth runner and has plenty of size for his age. His overall frame and ball-skills were easy to notice. He can be a mismatch at tight end down the road as he continues to grow and keep his raw athleticism.
Keshon Blow | Running Back
Blow doesn’t look like your average 6th grader. He stood out in both the running back and linebacker group, showing toughness and impressive athleticism for his age. He was smooth running the ball and had no problem bringing down the ball-carrier in tackling drills. He looked like someone going places down the road. He has an excellent day.
Fredric Moses | Athlete
Like Allen, Moses performed really well in the passing drills, catching just about everything thrown to him. He’s also a smooth runner with size who can line up at WR or TE down the road. He was easy to notice and made play after play when Prep Redzone had eyes on him.
Darin Bruce | Defensive back
In an impressive defensive back group, Darin stood out among the rest. He showed a nice back-pedal and the ability to go snag the football. He’s a nice-looking athlete with strong instincts in the secondary. He showed great hands over and over again and stood out in just about every rep we saw him in.
Donald Cato | Offensive Line
Another lineman who was easy to notice, Cato, is big, strong and physical. He also knows how to finish blocks and play until the whistle. He was excellent when it came to drills, and more often than not, Cato won his reps. He drove one prospect way out of the drill and made it look easy, almost running him into one of the coaches. He easily stood out among the offensive linemen.
