Class 6A Final Four: Players To Know

t’s the week of the Final 4 in Georgia and we have some of the state’s top programs battling it out this weekend in 7A. We have the reigning state champion Buford Wolves taking on a West Georgia power in Carrollton in one game, and it's the Wolves who are looking to repeat as state champions. Here are some top players to know about in this big-time 6A game… &nbsp; <strong>Buford (12-1): </strong> <em><a class="pn-player-link" href="https://prepredzone.com/player/jake-pope/"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="33896" first="Jake" last="Pope"]</span></a> – ATH </em> One of the top two-way players in the state, the three-star ATH is committed to Alabama for a reason. The 6-foot-1 190-pounder is instinctive at defensive back with the ability to both cover and help against the run. He’s a turnover machine and force the game winning fumble in the championship game last season. He shows great ball skills, playmaking ability, an impressive frame, and overall toughness. He’s an excellent player who can make plays in every aspect of the game. &nbsp; <em><a class="pn-player-link" href="https://prepredzone.com/player/isaiah-bond/"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="95444" first="Isaiah" last="Bond"]</span></a> – ATH </em> One of the fastest and most explosive players across the country, Bond is another guy with the potential to make plays on both sides of the ball on Friday night. He’s not the biggest wide-out in the region, but his speed tough to handle for just about every DB he goes up against. At 6-foot-0 175-pounds, Bond ran the nation’s fastest 100-meter dash earlier this summer when he ran it in 10.73 seconds. Bond also placed 2nd in the 200-meter dash with a posted time of 21.57 seconds. He’s a dangerous deep-ball threat for any offense at the next level due to his straight-line speed and ball skills. As good as he is as a receiver, Bond can also turn around and hold his own at cornerback. &nbsp; <em><a class="pn-player-link" href="https://prepredzone.com/player/ashton-daniels/"><span class="name-pointer">[player_tooltip player_id="224867" first="Ashton" last="Daniels"]</span></a> – QB  </em> One of the top QBs in Gwinnett County, Daniels is a poised, strong-armed QB who continues to improve as a passer. He’s a dynamic, play-making QB with a live arm, and he has no problem making big throws under pressure. Stanford liked what the saw from Daniels in 2020, and they were able to land his commitment this spring. He’s only going to get better as he enters the final stretch of his senior season. He can make plays in a lot of different ways with one state title already under his belt. He’ll be going up against a tough defense, so even with a lot of weapons at his disposal, he’ll have to play lights out in order to get the victory. &nbsp; <em>Other Buford Wolves to know:</em> 2024 ATH [player_tooltip player_id="137438" first="KJ" last="Bolden"] 2023 OL Paul Mubenga 2022 LB [player_tooltip player_id="33901" first="Aubrey" last="Smith"] 2024 EDGE [player_tooltip player_id="220734" first="Eddrick" last="Houston"] &nbsp; <strong>Carrollton (12-1):</strong> <em>MJ Morris - QB</em> One of the top dual-threat QBs in the state, Morris is a dynamic, playmaking quarterback with multiple years of starting experience. He has a live arm and knows how to make lots of plays with his legs. He’s a big-play waiting to happen and there aren’t many across the state who plays the way he can. He can push the ball down the field and he’s consistently accurate on shorter passes underneath. Morris has thrown for over 2,900 yards and 33 touchdowns through the air. He’s also rushed for over 500 yards and 7 touchdowns on the season. &nbsp; <em>Bryce Hicks - RB</em> One of the top young sophomore backs in the state, Hicks was outstanding in year two, showing big-play potential and the ability to put the offense on his back. He was extremely versatile, making plays as a runner and a receiver all year. He does a nice job of bursting through the hole and can be dangerous in the open field. Hicks rushed for over 800 yards 13 touchdowns on the ground while catching over 20 passes for over 350 yards and five more touchdowns. &nbsp; <em>Amare Hall - DB</em> One of the top playmaking defenders in the state, Hall is a turnover machine in the secondary with great instincts and ball skills. He covers a lot of ground in the back end and knows how to make a play on the ball. The senior will have a tough task on his hands dealing with multiple impressive Buford receivers on Friday night.
