There was no other game in Arizona with more division 1 talent on the field than this one right here. When DeAndre Hopkins from the Arizona Cardinals shows up to see these guys get loose, you know it’s a different type of atmosphere there. Take a look at the top offensive players from a big time matchup:
Logan Krei Logan Krei 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Hamilton | 2023 State AZ , RB, Hamilton ’23
Krei was definitely the most impressive player on the night, stepping up huge to play a major impact in that 21-14 W. He’s 5’10″ 180lbs but runs like he’s 6’2″ 220. Krei hits the hole with a nice burst and brings excellent physicality at the POC. Fearless ball carrier with the demeanor to truck someone on any given run, as he is a mean and angry ball carrier. He finished with 12 carries for 98 yards and a TD, and made a big statement on Friday night.
Kyion Grayes Kyion Grayes 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Chandler | 2022 State AZ , WR, Chandler ’22
Grayes had himself a solid night, racking up 6 catches for 115 yards and a TD, which includes his 56 yard vert for six in the 1st quarter for Chandler’s first score of the game. It’s been stated over and over, but Grayes is a very dangerous and well-polished receiver that can take advantage of man coverage with ease. He can burn a defense in a variety of ways and is a creative route runner with the natural ability to generate separation and get open. Ohio State fans should be hyped to watch this kid suit up there next fall.
Nicco Marchiol Nicco Marchiol 6'2" | 220 lbs | QB Hamilton | 2022 State AZ , QB, Hamilton ’22
The West Virginia commit once again flashed his competitive toughness against a top team in the country. He did a great job making quick and decisive reads to get the ball out quick. Excellent placement and timing on numerous throws to put it in only the receiver’s radius. Even though he is a top rated passer here on the west coast, people need to start giving his ability to escape pressure and make plays on his feet some more respect. Overall a big time performance as he threw for for 2 TD’s.
Tre Spivey Tre Spivey 6'4" | 185 lbs | WR Hamilton | 2023 State AZ , WR, Hamilton ’23
In my opinion, Spivey is one of the most slept on players in the entire state, as he continues to show up and produce in big games. Spivey hauled in 4 receptions for 45 yards along with the go ahead TD in the corner of the endzone in the 4th quarter. He sizes up with a terrific frame and build at 6’4″ 185lbs and possesses great length with a large catch radius. He knows how to generate a release off of man-press and also shows the ability to manipulate DB’s with active feet in space. He’s been checking all the boxes as a P5 receiver and holds loads of potential going forward.
Blaine Hipa Blaine Hipa 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Chandler | 2022 State AZ , QB, Chandler ’22
Hipa completed 15 out of 21 attempts for 227 yards and 2 TD’s. His two TD’s on the night were both deep balls where he showed solid poise and timing on both throws. Hipa displayed good pocket mechanics both under center and out of shotgun, and did a solid job identifying mismatches pre-snap. He stands tall in the pocket and sizes up with a nice frame and build at 6’3″ 195lbs to absorb hits after release as well.
Christian Anaya Christian Anaya 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Hamilton | 2022 State AZ , WR, Hamilton ’22
Anaya played with a ton of competitiveness and grit on Friday night. He flashed a bit of his athleticism as they utilized him on the ground and through the air. He hauled in 4 receptions for 21 yards and a TD, and had 4 carries for 49 yards. He’s a speedy player that can be dangerous in space, but also brings some solid physicality to the POC to lower his shoulder deliver a pop to opponents.
Quaron Adams Quaron Adams 5'9" | 165 lbs | ATH Chandler | 2022 State AZ , ATH, Chandler ’22
Adams hauled in 2 catches for 71 yards and a TD on a wheel route where he burnt man coverage with pure speed. After that 50 yard wheel for a TD, he had a relatively quiet night, but his speed clearly stood out and had to be an identified threat every play pre-snap.
