Here’s one standout from each of the championships in the 3A-6A classes:
6A:
Mikey Pauley Mikey Pauley 6'5" | 200 lbs | QB Blue Valley NW | 2022 State KS , 6-foot-5, 200-pound quarterback, 2022, Blue Valley Northwest:
Pauley dominated the last football game he will likely ever play in. The Nebraska baseball commit led the Huskies to a surprisingly dominant 41-21 win over Derby. Pauley was incredible, rushing for four touchdowns and passing for another. He carried 32 times for 157 yards, and hit 15-21 throws for another 186 yards. His performance was arguably the best of anyone on Championship Saturday.
5A:
Reice Kennedy Reice Kennedy 5'9" | 185 lbs | RB Mill Valley | 2022 State KS , 5-foot-8, 180-pound running back, 2022, Mill Valley:
Kennedy rolled to 230 yards on 27 carries and scored once as Mill Valley picked up its third 5A title in a row by beating Maize 28-14. The senior also caught a pass for 27 yards.
4A:
Jackson House Jackson House 6'0" | 180 lbs | QB Dunham | 2023 State LA , 6-foot, 182-pound quarterback, 2023, St. James Academy:
House brought the flash and the grit for the Thunder in its 28-21 win over Andover Central. House wasn’t as sharp throwing as he often is. He finished 17 of 34 for 248 yards and two touchdowns. But it was his toughness and refusal to lose that stood out. House rushed for 57 yards on 18 carries, often moving the chains in the second half when the game was on the line.
3A:
Gage Prosser, 6-foot, running back, 2024, Andale:
You could pick one of a number of standouts from Andale’s 53-0 blitzing of Frontenac. The Indians rolled to 570 yards of offense, after all. But sophomore Prosser stands out for a couple of long touchdown runs en route to 164 yards rushing.
