In-depth analysis of some of the top two-way athletes rising up the PRZ 2023 Rankings.
[player_tooltip player_id="145208" first="Delano" last="Franklin"], WR/DB, Bishop Amat
Franklin is a versatile athlete that is explosive making plays out of the slot. Can be effective lining up all over the field but possesses a great physical skillset for a major D1 WR/DB prospect with his combination of speed, quickness, and ball skills. He’s fluid with his movement showing good burst/acceleration in the drive phase off the LOS and is smooth coming in and out of his breaks. He’s a creative route runner that can attack the defense at all three levels and understands how to gain positional leverage with use of stems/nods. Good body control and coordination to adjust to ball flight and reel in tough receptions outside his framework. Recruiting skyrocketed over the summer pulling in 10 D1 offers from some of the top programs in the country including Florida State, Ole Miss, Louisville, Miami, and Georgia.

[player_tooltip player_id="25370" first="Solomon" last="Davis"], WR/DB, Charter Oak
At 6’0” 185 lbs. Davis is a physical game breaker in all three phases. The game comes very naturally to him using his smooth athleticism and great instincts/anticipation. On offense, he’s electric with the ball in his hands coming out of the slot or the backfield. Has the vision, balance, and strength as a ball carrier to be elusive in the open field and run through contact. He flashes his great ball skills attacking the ball in the air and making highlight reel receptions especially across the middle and on vertical routes. On defense, he’s a ball hawking DB that shows a great break and burst to close. Colleges love his versatility and ability on both sides of the ball. Recruiting has been steadily on the rise with offers from Colorado, Ole Miss, UNLV, Fresno State, Colorado State, and Northern Arizona.

[player_tooltip player_id="145206" first="Isaiah" last="Ojeda"], DB/WR, Apple Valley
Ojeda possesses a well-rounded skillset that can transition well to multiple positions at the college level but projects as a safety where he can use his versatility as a cover guy and in the box defender to his advantage. Great range and lateral mobility to play sideline to sideline. He flashes a strong break on the ball out of his backpedal to quickly close space in coverage and in run support. Love his quick trigger once he diagnoses run/pass and his high effort/physical nature. Holds three offers to date from Florida International, Florida Atlantic, and Arkansas State but has the talent and ability to add more as he continues to develop.

[player_tooltip player_id="145244" first="Jaylen" last="Hall"], WR/DB, Mater Dei Catholic
Hall checks a lot of boxes as two-way athlete. Outstanding speed, quickness, and explosiveness in addition to his long frame with plenty of growth potential. He’s lethal in space with the ball in hands that can use his athleticism and elusiveness to make something out of nothing. Flashes great start/stop speed with loose hips to quickly change directions and accelerate out of his cuts. Has shown great ability as a receiver this season. He’s a natural pass catcher with exceptional body control, coordination, and spatial awareness. As a route runner, he comes out of his stance and out of his breaks with great acceleration/burst to create separation and pull away from coverage. No offers yet but expect his recruiting stock to rise as he’s able to showcase his talent.

[player_tooltip player_id="190434" first="Journey" last="McKoy"], DB/WR, De La Salle
Exciting player to watch in one of the top programs in the state. He’s a strider with outstanding top end speed and short area burst. Shows great fluidity and lateral agility with his ability to change directions and cut on a dime. High football IQ, he’s a technician with his footwork/fundamentals as expected in the De La Salle program and flashes great instincts/anticipation in the secondary. He puts himself in position to be a difference maker with extremely efficient movement and great reactionary quickness to break on the ball. Not the biggest in stature but plays big and attacks the ball at the high point. He’s one of the top 2023 prospects without an offer and one of the best kept secrets in the state.
