Here is a look at the top five quarterbacks who put on the top performances from Week 7.
[player_tooltip player_id="190993" first="Nate" last="Robbins"] | Millville
Robbins surpassed the 1,000-yard mark on the season this past weekend as he completed 24 of 28 passes for 408 yards and four touchdowns. He helped his Millville team to a 40-7 victory over Williamstown by completing 86% of his passes and throwing touchdowns of 12, 23, 80 and 87 yards.
Analysis: Robbins doesn’t have the strongest arm but for what he lacks in strength he makes up with finesse. He has the ability to move around in the pocket and does a good job keeping his eyes downfield and allowing plays to develop in front of him. He hit his receivers on a number of intermediate routes who were then able to break long runs after the catch.
[player_tooltip player_id="124480" first="Frankie" last="Farmer"] | The Hun
Farmer had another big game this past weekend as he’s often found himself in our top performer’s list. He completed 32 of 46 passes for 354 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-20 loss to Lawrenceville. He threw for touchdowns of 13 and 68 yards and rushed one in from a yard out in the 4th quarter.
Analysis: Farmer again showcased good pocket presence and the ability to get the ball to his receivers in a hurry. He stands tall in the pocket and delivers strikes to his receivers. He did a good job spreading the ball around this weekend as he had two receivers in the top 5 in overall performances for Week 7.
John Lembo | Lyndhurst
Lembo posted his best game of the season as he completed 16 of 23 throws for 304 yards and two touchdowns in a 57-22 victory over New Milford. He also rushed the ball 3 times for 30 yards and two scores. He threw for touchdown passes of 10 39 yards while rushing it in from both 1 yard and 10 yards out.
Analysis: Lembo throws a nice 50-50 ball, often putting it in a spot where only his receiver can catch it. He has above-average arm strength as he can throw on the move or across his body. He’s patient in the pocket which allows his receivers time to get open downfield.
[player_tooltip player_id="207221" first="Sean" last="Clark"] | Randolph
Clark led the state in touchdown passes in Week 7 as he was 14 of 29 for 275 yards and five scores in a 40-25 victory over Wayne Valley. He threw touchdown passes of 12, 21, 42, 57 and 70 yards.
Analysis: When Clark’s receivers got behind the defense he showed the ability to hit them in stride for long touchdowns. He stands tall in the pocket and has the arm strength to get the ball to his receivers in-stride on intermediate to deep routes.
[player_tooltip player_id="135815" first="Jaden" last="Craig"] | Seton Hall Prep
Craig helped Seton Hall Prep to a 34-21 victory over Delbarton this past weekend as he completed 15 of his 25 passes for 274 yards and three touchdowns.
Analysis: The 6-foot-3, 205-pound quarterback has an above-average arm as he’s able to move around in the pocket and throw the ball deep with accuracy without setting his feet. He’s athletic enough to break long runs and is strong enough to fit off first contact.
