While some of these names on this list are easily recognizable, others happen to be new to some readers. If you happen to come across players that you may not be familiar with, we encourage you to take some time to do your research, and give these prospects a look.
Justin Thomas (RB)- Benedictine
Thomas, who has been a huge part of the Benedictine offense, ran for 122 yards last Friday, while also totaling about 131 yards receiving. This helped Benedictine control the game, and to be able to continue to keep the opposing team off balance. Moving forward, if Thomas can continue to have this impact for his team, look for him to receive more statewide attention than he is currently getting.
Myles Woods (DB)- Grayson
Even though Woods and Grayson High School came up on the losing end of their match up, he managed to do his fair share, as he totaled 2 interceptions, and also recovered a fumble.
Dylan Lonergan Dylan Lonergan 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Brookwood | 2023 State GA (QB)- Brookwood
Lonergan, who has found himself on lists like this time and time again, had another strong performance in his team’s big win over Grayson. This should not come as a surprise, as he has proven that he can rise to the occassion against great competition. Against Grayson, Lonergan completed 23 of his 31 passes, and he also threw for 216 yards and 1 TD. To add to this, to further keep the defense off balance, he also rushed for over 60 yards.
Luke Harpring (LB)- Marist
In their big win over Stephenson, Harpring managed to score on a pick six. This added to Marist’s final score of 64-12 by the time the game ended.
Alexander Diggs (RB)- Brookwood
In their 35-14 win over Grayson, Diggs was borderline unstoppable. As a key MVP in the game, he totaled about 145 yards, and also rushed for 3 TD’s. Even more, he also managed to catch 9 passes for 81, creating match up problems for Grayson’s defense. As the post season approaches, we would not be shocked if Diggs became a hidden gem that could help take Brookwood over the hump.
Yusuf Ryan (DL)- Riverdale
Ryan helped his team to be able to dominate Hampton’s offense, limiting overall ball movement, while also adding plenty of pressure on the passer. In the game, Ryan totaled 4 solo tackles, with 7 total tackles. In addition to this, he also added 3 sacks to his resume.
Lucas Najjar (LB)- Cohasset
Not only did Najjar play at a high level, but his performance was huge when it came to situational football. He not only helped his team get a big 33-10 win, but he also had a big time interception, which was shortly followed by a receiving TD by him.
Jakelvis Whitley (RB)– Johnson County
This past week, Whitley toted the rock 19 times, and managed to accumulate about 235 yards when doing so. On the ground, he rushed for 4 total TD’s, which was a game changer in a close win over Dublin. Whitley, who seemed impossible to stop, was a key piece in the close 42-35 win and will undoubtedly continue to keep it rolling through the rest of the season.
