TOP PERFORMERS – WEEK 6

Once again this past week, there were some outstanding performances across the Sunshine State. In addition to the coverage we provide every day, there are the athletes we recognize each and every week. These prospects, many who are already on the radar, get the chance to shine in the spotlight. This has become one of the most popular things we do in our coverage – as athletes from across Florida send us so many tremendous performances from the week. We hope that you enjoy our coverage – as more and more people find out about Prep Redzone Florida. <strong>THIS WEEK’S GEMS</strong> Congratulations to <strong>New Port Richey Gulf</strong> for ending a 29-game losing streak in a 26-24 win over Anclote as A.J. Blanton ran for 188 yards and two scores. <strong>Tocoi Creek</strong> won its first game in program history, taking down Providence, 21-12, at home. <strong>Kaiz Ragland </strong>caught a touchdown, <strong>Wendell Dean</strong> had a long TD run and <strong>Ryan Killmer</strong> added a score to give the Toros and head coach Mike<strong> Kolakowski</strong> the win. Northwestern University commit <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50050" first="Austin" last="Firestone"]</strong>, playing 100-plus snaps, delivered two sacks, five tackles for loss and a pass deflection as Niceville rolled to a 42-21 win against Crestview. Fort Lauderdale Stranahan 2024 QB <strong>Rueben Toombs</strong> had over 300 yards and 2 scores in a win over Jensen Beach. <strong>Brian Hooks</strong>, DB, Jacksonville Andrew Jackson came up with an interception, five tackles and a pass breakup and never gave up a completion on his side. Tampa Sickles athlete <strong>David Pomales</strong> had 6 touchdowns, 5 receiving and 1 on a kickoff return in a win over Tampa Leto. Junior LB <strong>Thomas Howard II</strong> from Citra North Marion had 17 tackles (5 solo), a tackle for loss and an interception on Friday night. In Orlando Olympia’s 42-22 win over Celebration, Class of 2022 LB <strong>Kevin Sullivan</strong> (15 tackles, 7 solo, 2 TFL, 1 FF, 1 PBU and an onside kick recovery), Class of 2022 WR <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="108648" first="Victor" last="Jones"] Jr.</strong> (7 catches for 126 yards and 2 TDs) and Class of 2022 QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="118702" first="CJ" last="Brooks"]</strong> (13/17/293/4 TDs for 260 yards and all 4 scores in the first half). Quarterback <strong>Ryan Browne</strong>, Venice, was 11 of 19 for 211 yards and 5 touchdowns. He also carried three times for 38 yards in a fifth straight win. Pompano Beach 2023 WR <strong>Lorenzo Beggs </strong>once again came up huge for the Tornadoes. The 6-2, 155-pounder is indeed a huge catalyst. Class of 2025 freshman QB <strong>Austin Simmons</strong> completed 14 passes for 316 yards and 4 touchdowns in Pahokee’s win. Jupiter Christian 2022 WR/DB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="111480" first="Brian" last="LaFrance"]</strong> continues to make a major impact each week on both sides of the ball. <strong>JoeJoe Patti,</strong> QB, Orlando West Oaks was 18 of 24 for 412 yards and 5 touchdowns in a win. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50215" first="Trey" last="Rainey"]</strong>, 2022 RB, Boca Raton had 173 yards and 2 scores in a huge district win. He also happens to hold down a 3.8 GPA in the classroom. Senior RB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50210" first="Kade" last="Frew"]</strong> helped Jacksonville Bolles stay unbeaten with 200 more yards in a win over Trinity Christian. St. Petersburg High 2023 QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="128319" first="Evan" last="Jacobson"]</strong> accounted for over 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is also a 3.5 student in the classroom. <strong>Gavin Peacock</strong>, Class of 2023 DE, Lake Worth Park Vista had 8 tackles, 4 tackles for loss. 1 sack and 6 QB pressures in a huge win. Harmony kicker <strong>Kevin LaVigne</strong> has been one of the top kickers this year in Florida. His 47-yard field goal was the fourth of 40-plus this season. Chaminade-Madonna sophomore RB <strong>Davion Gause</strong> continues to impress and lead the Lions – with well over 100 yards in a huge win over defending 8A state champion Sanford Seminole. Oviedo WR <strong>Alex Saunders</strong> caught 9 passes for 140 yards and 2 TDs against Flagler Palm Coast. Miami Ransom Everglades QB <strong>Nick Rubino</strong> was at it again this week – with 180 yards and 3 touchdowns passing. Putting him over 1,000 yards on the season for his 5-0 team. Fort Myers Dunbar QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="108645" first="Daveon" last="Palmer"]</strong> had another solid night in a win over Fort Myers – throwing for over 300 yards and 4 touchdowns. Dunbar remained unbeaten. Miami Gulliver Prep 2024 LB <strong>Dylan Calero</strong> has been one of the best in Florida this year. Against two-time defending 2A state champion Champagnat Catholic, he had 10 tackles, 3 tackles for loss. 1 sack, 1 forced fumble and 1 fumble recovery. <strong>Garth Lewis</strong>, WR, Coral Springs had a huge game in a win over Coconut Creek North Broward Prep.
