The St. Alban’s Bulldogs started IAC conference play on a tear, dominating Bullis School 20-6. The major storyline for this STA squad is their star transfer quarterback Chase Williams Chase Williams 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB St. Albans | 2022 State MD . The former WCAC champion has made a seamless transition to the less balanced and more run heavy IAC style of play, and there’s no doubt that his dual threat capabilities are off the charts fantastic. The Bulldogs are able to run a read-option offense with Williams under center, and every defense that St. Alban’s has faced this season struggled to maintain him. Williams and the Bulldogs will look to stay undefeated this coming weekend against St. Stephens on 10/23 @1:30.
ST. ALBAN’S
Offense:
2022 6’1 190 QB – Chase Williams Chase Williams 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB St. Albans | 2022 State MD
Chase Williams Chase Williams 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB St. Albans | 2022 State MD has been the MVP of every game for the Bulldogs this year, and he’s on pace to have a historically great season with unanimous All-IAC first team honors. Against Bullis, Williams showcased his ground game, running for a pair of touchdowns and nearly one hundred all purpose yards. He achieved a 50% completion percentage against Bullis, which was one of his worst this season, but he still maintained a solid overall quarterback rating of about 80. Chase Williams Chase Williams 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB St. Albans | 2022 State MD can do it all, and if he continues to run and throw the football with as much efficiency as he has been, then there’s no question that St. Alban’s will have a chance to be crowned IAC champions at the end of the season.
2022 6’0 175 RS – Luke Harmon
You’d be hard pressed to find a return specialist in the IAC better than Luke Harmon. That’s because there isn’t one. Harmon demonstrated his elite returning skills against Bullis, and he racked up nearly fifty all-purpose yards, nearly breaking free for a touchdown. Harmon plays the game with a ton of passion and energy, and he can absolutely be a return specialist at the division one level. With his vision and footwork, Harmon could be a nightmare for collegiate special team units.
2023 6’0 180 RB – Eli Quarles
Eli Quarles is a powerful running back who also possesses immense blocking skill in the backfield. With his quarterback running a lot, Quarles has been tasked with blocking pass rushers from linebackers to massive defensive linemen. When he carries the football, he earns a ton of yardage after contact, and he’s utilized as a goal line option a lot. The Junior running back has shown a ton of maturity this season, and with Chase Williams Chase Williams 6'1" | 190 lbs | QB St. Albans | 2022 State MD set to graduate at the end of the year it’s safe to say that the 2022 season next year will be a breakout one for Eli Quarles. He’ll look to continue to prove himself against a very good SSSA team this weekend.
Defense:
2022 5’11 185 LB – Alex Tilton
Alex Tilton plays on both sides of the ball, and he’s simply a quintessential football player. The Senior understands his role on this football team, and he’s proven himself as one of the team leaders. Against Bullis he flourished at middle linebacker, making open-field tackles and dropping back into coverage to stop the pass. Tilton is also utilized in the backfield as a screen option at running back, and he also carries the ball from time to time. Alex Tilton will look to add to his dominant Senior campaign when the Bulldogs meet the Saints this weekend in a classic IAC showdown.
2025 5’11 175 DB – Jacob Drever
There’s not a Freshman player on the entire St. Alban’s roster with more potential than Jacob Drever. Drever made one of the plays of the game for the Bulldogs this weekend when he ran all the way to the far-sideline from the free safety position to make an explosive tackle which stopped Bullis from converting on first down. His speed and athleticism make him a wide receiver’s worst nightmare, and now he’s gaining live game experience, which is going to pay off hugely for him over the next four years. In a matchup of undefeated IAC teams this weekend, Jacob Drever could be the difference maker against St. Stephens for the STA bulldogs.
