Eddie Allain, Norte Vista, 2022
Two years ago, prior to the pandemic, Norte Vista and Hillcrest played an awesome game but for whatever reason Norte Vista has lapped Hillcrest on the field since. Allain had a massive game running the ball in the Braves’ 28-0 win over Hillcrest. He rushed for 220 yards on 13 carries with three touchdowns. He had a 91-yard run to goose those numbers but still, he was the reason Norte Vista cruised to a win. Allain is the third leading rusher in the Southern Section.

[player_tooltip player_id="115424" first="Kobe" last="Boykin"], Orange, 2024
Boykin is one of the most dynamic playmakers in Southern California for any class, but is one of the top 10 sophomores in the state. Prior to this season I wanted to see how he played against better competition. He answered that question for me with good games against teams like Capo Valley, La Habra and Yorba Linda. He had a dominant game against Saddleback last week, rushing for 126 yards on just 9 carries with two touchdowns before being lifted from the game early due to a blowout. Boykin and Orange have their biggest game of the season this week, the Orange Coast League championship game against Santa Ana.

Mikey Gorbea, Diamond Bar, 2022
Gorbea has been putting up huge numbers all season for Diamond Bar and had one of his best games last week in a huge win over Nogales. He rushed for 264 yards on 26 carries with four touchdowns in a 34-20 win. Gorbea is fifth in the Southern Section in rushing and had a season-high of 308 yards earlier in the season in a close win against Montclair.

[player_tooltip player_id="25452" first="Makei" last="Thompson"], Mira Mesa, 2023
Mira Mesa had a well-rounded offensive game in a 38-35 win against Scripps Ranch. The key to victory was running back [player_tooltip player_id="25452" first="Makei" last="Thompson"] who ran for 188 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a 29 yard reception and a nice kick return. The 188 yards were a season-high for Thompson and it came in the team’s biggest game of the season.
