[player_tooltip player_id="25291" first="Nick" last="Adimora"], Mayfair, 2022
Mayfair played a very close game against La Mirada in what was essentially the Suburban League championship game. Adimora has been stellar all season and had over 1,000 yards rushing entering last Friday’s game. In a 15-10 win, he rushed for 121 yards on 20 carries with a touchdown. He runs well between the tackles and can turn on the jets in the open field. He had a 51-yard run in the game and reporters at the game were complimentary of him.

Jaylin Burt, North Hollywood, 2025
North Hollywood High had a great running game in the spring season with Shaq Brookins and they have that same luxury again with Burt. The freshman rushed for 156 yards on 20 carries with three touchdowns in a win over Chavez. He has rushed for over 100 yards in each of the last three games and had a career-high 179 yards against Grant two weeks ago. Burt and fellow freshman Melvin Adams are two great running backs who will have great careers at North Hollywood for years.

Freddy Fletcher, Cajon, 2022
Cajon handed Yucaipa its first loss of the season last week. Fletcher had a huge game and was going head-to-head with Yucaipa’s star running back Emmanuel Barajas. Fletcher ran for 107 yards on just 13 carries with a touchdown in the 42-6 win. He is easily going to eclipse 1,000 yards this season and already has 11 touchdowns through seven games.

Troy Fletcher, Edison, 2022
Edison put up a great effort but just came up short against a star-ridden Los Alamitos in what may have been the Sunset League championship game. A major reason that Edison was able to stay in the game was because of Edison’s offensive line and the performance of Fletcher. The senior ran for 205 yards on 21 carries with three touchdowns. Fletcher is a little undersized as a college prospect but he is a rugby guy with a natural ability to run the ball and keep his feet moving through contact.

Luke Sidhu, Twentynine Palms, 2024
Sidhu is a quarterback and not a running back but there is nothing in the rules that says quarterbacks can’t make this list. If Sidhu was absent for the the game against Coachella Valley, Twentynine Palms would have lost. He ran for 138 yards on 25 attempts with two touchdowns in the 15-14 win. Sidhu can make plays after contact which is rare for young quarterbacks and has excellent field vision.
