Justin Gil, La Habra, 2023
La Habra got off to a nightmare start to the season but played one of the more challenging schedules in Orange County. They have settled down and gotten through the hard part of their league schedule and will win out from here. Gil had a nice first half in a 50-3 rout of Fullerton, completing 8 of 11 passes for 183 yards and 3 touchdowns. He throws a good deep ball despite his short release and moves well in the pocket to extend plays.

Erick Harrison, Montclair, 2023
When a game is a blowout and I am evaluating quarterbacks, efficiency is something I look for. I can tolerate a lot of incompletions and even a turnover in a close game against a great team, but in a blowout, I value efficiency. Harrison was very productive for Montclair in a 35-0 win over Pioneer. The junior completed 14 of 17 passes for 196 yards and two touchdowns. Harrison is having a very good season with 14 touchdowns and just two interceptions.

[player_tooltip player_id="145214" first="Dominic" last="Nankil"], Mater Dei Catholic, 2023
Mater Dei Catholic had a huge offensive day in a 41-7 win over Otay Ranch. The Crusaders had 502 yards of total offense. Nankil threw for 355 yards and four touchdowns. He is averaging around 280 yards per game in his first year as a varsity starter with 18 touchdowns and just one interception. New Mexico State has offered Nankil.

Jack Ruff, St. Margaret’s, 2022
Ruff is a guy I first heard about in 2019 when St. Margaret’s former offensive coordinator was praising his senior quarterback but told me he has a sophomore he really thinks could be a star. Ruff had a star performance in a 60-20 win over Castaic. The senior had six total touchdowns with four through the air. Ruff is very accurate and has good chemistry with his receivers. I’d like to see how he does against higher-caliber competition but he is the leader of the Tartans’ offense and having a great senior season. He has an offer from Georgetown.

Noah Salas, Pacifica, 2024
Some people figured that Pacifica’s season was over when star quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="39430" first="Darius" last="Cowens"] went down with an injury. Salas made his first varsity sport against Valencia of Placentia and had a record-setting night. He completed 19 of 26 passes for 395 yards and a school-record seven touchdowns in a 45-42 win to keep Pacifica’s Empire League title hopes alive. He performed very well in his first game in a close game against a division rival which gets him on this list.
