Ryne Buckley – Penn – QB – 6’0″ 160 lbs
Buckley looked fantastic on Friday. He had a clean pocket most of the night so he was able to sit back and make his reads and deliver the ball where it needed to go. His performance Friday was more of a clinic for the defenses and everyone who watched got to learn. He led Penn to TD drives on seemingly almost every drive. They absolutely blew out St. Joseph by 31 points.
Jason Dockery – South Bend Washington – WR – 6’2″ 185 lbs
Dockery was the brightest light for Washington’s offense on Friday. He is dynamic and explosive with the ball in his hands and they like to be creative getting him the ball. He’s not going to go down on the first tackler either. He found the endzone for Washington and broke open their offense. They finally got rolling and Dockery was the spark they needed. He’s a problem and ideally, they use him more in the coming weeks.
Nathan Creed – Glenn – QB – 6’1″ 175 lbs
Creed was great on Friday. He’s a dynamic athlete and is a great runner when they need him to. He likes to run and trusts his instincts when he needs to pull down the ball. He’s able to make most of the throws needed. He’s able to sit back and read the defenses like a seasoned veteran. He’s gotten better every year and now that it is his final year he’s pulling out all the stops to get Glenn where they need to be. He broke a 60-yard TD run where he weaved through the entire defense and it opened the scoring for both teams.
Noah Richhart – LaVille – RB/LB – 5’9″ 160 lbs
Richhart isn’t the flashiest player but he’s steady. He’s the most reliable player that they have and when they get him the ball good things happen. He has fantastic top-end speed but it takes him a bit to get going. It takes multiple tacklers to bring him down and he’ll never be tackled by the first defender. He broke a huge run and broke multiple tackles and ignited Laville’s offense. He looked great and got stronger as the game went on.
Nick Carithers – Jimtown – TE/DE – 6’2″ 205 lbs
Carithers was fun on Friday because of how involved he was on 3rd down Friday. He was Jimtown’s 3rd down conversion machine on Friday. Anytime they needed a conversion they looked his way over the middle and he delivered. He can take the big hits over the middle of the field and he’s going to have defenders bounce off of him. He’s gritty and does all of the little things they need him to do. He found the endzone early in the game and then he converted a 4th down where it felt like there was no way he was making the 1st down. He’s the kind of player who makes football fun. He’s a blue-collared player and does the little things well.
