Snider @ Bishop Luers Defensive Highlights

The weather was muggy, cold, and muddy. There were some ball security issues because of this and defensive players were flying around making plays. Isaiah Maxwell - Snider - DB - 5'10" 190 lbs Maxwell was sitting in the box all night letting the defense test him and he was winning. He was crashing the run game and forcing Clark out of the pocket and on the move. Snider sent an exotic pressure on 3rd down in the redzone and Maxwell got home. He got the sack and killed the drive. Luers had to go for the FG but ended up missing. Adam Blakey - Snider - LB - 6'2" 205 lbs Blakey was all over the field on Friday. They lined him up on the line, LB, and even on the backend a few plays. He recorded a sack early in the game where he shot right through the A-gap and to his surprise the QB was right there waiting to be hit. He also got an interception in the redzone to kill another Luers drive. The ball went right through the hands of a receiver and into Blakey's hands. Quincy Myatt - Snider - SS - 5'10" 175 lbs Myatt was a benefactor of the line getting pressure all night. It was forcing the Luers offense to get aggressive and take some deep shots. Myatt was able to record 3 PBU's on the night. All 3 were in the air for over 30-yards and Myatt played them perfectly. He was frustrating the WRs he faced all night and was crashing the run game as well. He finished with 7 tackles, a TFL, 3 PBU, and helped Snider get the win. Santiago Ortiz - Snider - DB - 5'9" 155 lbs The interception Ortiz made was on a fantastic diving attempt where he just barely got his hands under the ball. It was late in the game, Luers was down by 2 scores, and the rain was coming down. Clark was rolling out to his left, went to make the throw, and he just underthrew it. Ortiz dove and made the play. That game just about iced the game as Snider was up by 2 scores and made it 3 on the next drive. Aden Dennis - Luers - DE - 5'10" 195 lbs The rain started downpouring and you could see the ball getting slippery. Dennis almost had himself an interception early in the game but the ball went right through his hands. Dennis laid a big hit on Maupert which forced a fumble. Bishop Luers recovered the ball and later scored on the next drive. Dennis finished the night with 6 tackles and his forced fumble.
