Every successful offense is built up from a foundation of dominant offensive linemen. If a team cannot win in the trenches, then they will most likely struggle to win games.
Offensive linemen rarely get to occupy the spotlight like their teammates who fill the “skill” positions, even though the big boys up front play a heavy role in the success of their teammates. It should come as no surprise that the state’s top recruits in each class are often the linemen on the offensive side of the ball and their edge-rushing counterparts.
This particular article will highlight seven offensive linemen who have been consistently raising their stock in the recruiting game this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="220422" first="Anthony" last="Dugan"] | Poudre | 6’3”, 265lbs | 2022 LT/LG/C/DT
Dugan is a versatile player who can fill the role of left tackle, left guard, and center for his program. He is quick off the line and does a fantastic job down blocking in order to create wide running lanes for the back. He can also dominate in big-on-big situations, which can be seen when he sets the edge in pass protection and blocking backside on run plays to prevent a defender from trailing the back. Dugan has been getting serious attention from college programs with interest coming from Colorado State, Wyoming, CSU Pueblo, Northern Colorado, Chadron State, and Emporia State.

[player_tooltip player_id="209835" first="Ari" last="Jacobs"] | Lutheran | 6’3”, 295lbs | 2022 G/C
Jacobs is a high-motor player who brings a dominant presence to the offensive line, especially in the run game. He creates large running lanes when down blocking and turns into a freight train whenever he pulls as a lead blocker. It has become quite common to see him driving an opponent seven-plus yards downfield on any given play, thanks to his strength, competitiveness, and drive to finish every play. Jacobs has been garnering interest from a few college programs, including receiving an offer from Western Colorado.

St. Aubyn is an absolute stud on the offensive line, making it no surprise that he has been garnering attention from top-tier collegiate programs. He is quick off of the ball and uses fast hands and violent intentions and the point of contact. In the run game, he does a great job at setting the edge and working to the second level to remove a backer from the area. St. Aubyn has been getting attention from schools such as CU, UCLA, UNM, Wyoming, Penn, Air Force, Harvard, and Dartmouth.

[player_tooltip player_id="220425" first="Hayden" last="Woodruff"] | Mullen | 6’4”, 287lbs | 2023 LT
Woodruff is another top offensive lineman in his class and it is easy to see why. He is explosive off of the line and dominates as a run and pass blocker. He has quick feet and good eyes which are two skills that help him recognize stunts and switch to pick up a delayed blitzer. Woodruff is a heavily sought-after prospect who has interest from big-time schools like Notre Dame, CU, Wyoming, Air Force, and Harvard.

[player_tooltip player_id="220426" first="Tucker" last="McGinnis"] | Thompson Valley | 6’0”, 280lbs | 2023 G/C
McGinnis is perhaps one of the more underrated players on this list, making him a true hidden gem with top-tier potential. He has quick feet and fast hands that he shoots with great placement, allowing for him to drive his opponent away from the play. His ability to be successful as a defensive tackle gives him an advantage as an offensive lineman, which helps him win reps in the trenches. McGinnis is still a low-flyer on the recruiting radar, making him an absolute steal as a prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="220428" first="Carson" last="Caplan"] | Pine Creek | 6’2”, 265lbs | 2024 LG
Caplan is a young player with phenomenal potential as a college recruit. He is quick-footed with serious power in his hands. In pass protection, his speed off the ball enables him to identify and engage threats with immovable force. In the run game, he is a dominant blocker who often finishes plays with a well-earned pancake. In his second year as a high school player, Caplan has already received interest from CU and Stanford.

This young player has proven to be a monster in the trenches with next-level dominance that is displayed through good footwork and excellent strength. Bujanda’s potential is already being noticed by college programs. He is fresh off of an official visit at UNLV, one of many for this future star.
