Prep RedZone Arkansas Week Five Prime Time Players

It is week five of the high school football in the season in the state of Arkansas and plenty of big games took place in the Natural State. When you have big games, you always get big performances and here is who had some impressive performances in the state this week. As always, a what we learned article will close out the weekend this coming weekend. Next week we will also examine some guys that have lit it up at the mid-season point. Austin Myers Austin Myers 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Vilonia | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-Vilonia-2022 Myers is one cool customer at the quarterback position. On Friday, he passed for 512 yards and seven touchdowns. When the first read wasn’t there, he would drop it down to his second or third read. Extremely impressive night from the Vilonia quarterback. Cameron Harris Cameron Harris 6'3" | 195 lbs | WR Benton | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-Benton-2022 The whole Benton Panthers team was on fire Friday night. However, exploded against Siloam Springs for 213 yards receiving and three touchdowns off of seven receptions. Harris has been extremely consistent all season for the Panthers. Jackie Washington Jackie Washington 5'9" | 180 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2022 El Dorado has one of the most impressive offenses in the state of Arkansas and playmakers all over the field. Washington caught four passes for 76 yards and one touchdown. Washington has been a dangerous wide receiver to cover all season. Stran Smith Stran Smith 6'2" | 200 lbs | QB Benton | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-Benton-2022 Like I said above the whole Benton football team exploded on Friday night. Quarterback was throwing darts all night long. Smith was 19-26 for 411 yards and four touchdowns. Benton is a hot football team and that could mean trouble for possible playoff opponents. Kamron Bibby Kamron Bibby 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR El Dorado | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2022 The senior wide receiver had a strong game for the Wildcats. Bibby hauled in seven receptions for 203 yards and two touchdowns. The El Dorado receiving corps is a talented group and will be a dangerous one to contend with come playoff time. Bladen Fike Bladen Fike 6'2" | 195 lbs | QB Fayetteville | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-Fayetteville-2022 How did one up himself from last week? All he did was account for seven total touchdowns. Six through the air and one on the ground. Fike is clicking on all cylinders right now and the Bulldogs are one of the most dangers teams in the state when playing like this. Kannon Bartlett Kannon Bartlett 6'1" | 175 lbs | WR Vilonia | 2022 State AR -Wide Receiver-Vilonia-2022 Bartlett had an impressive night against the Farmington Cardinals. Bartlett hauled in 10 receptions for 203 yards and three touchdowns. Bartlett continues a strong season of play. DeAndra Burns DeAndra Burns 5'11" | 150 lbs | WR/TE El Dorado | 2023 State AR Jr.-Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2023 The Arkansas commit had an impressive game on Friday night. Burns Jr. hauled in five receptions for 128 yards and four touchdowns. He has done nothing but get better this season and is a wide receiver that can stretch the field for the Wildcats. Dede Johnson Dede Johnson 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Searcy | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Searcy-2023 The Searcy running back has the potential to be special. He put on another strong display on Friday night. Johnson rushed for 306 yards and three touchdowns on 27 carries. Johnson is having a terrific season for the Lions of Searcy. Da’Shawn Chairs-Running Back-Elkins-2024 In week five, Chairs put on another strong performance for the Elks. Chairs ran the ball 29 times for 146 yards and three touchdowns. Chairs has been extremely impressive over the past few weeks, and he is only raising the level of play. Jamison Hinsley-Wide Receiver-Vilonia-2022 The Eagles have a number of weapons at their disposal. Hinsley caught 14 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown in Farmington on Friday. Solid night for the Vilonia passing game. Sharmon Rester Sharmon Rester 5'11" | 185 lbs | QB El Dorado | 2022 State AR -Quarterback-El Dorado-2022 Rester and the El Dorado offense had a monster night. The El Dorado quarterback was 18-27 for 431 yards and seven touchdowns. Rester did a great job of spreading the football around. Eli Masingale Eli Masingale 5'11" | 195 lbs | RB Oark | 2023 State AR -Running Back-Ozark-2022 The Ozark running back made the most of his carries on Friday night. Masingale rushed four times for 200 yards and three touchdowns. Good to see the talented running back bounce back from injury. Matthew Huff Matthew Huff 5'11" | 190 lbs | RB Jessieville | 2022 State AR -Running Back-Jessieville-2022 Huff is a workhorse for Jessieville. Huff rushed for 211 yards and two touchdowns on Friday night. He just keeps chugging along and having a big season in the process. He is a running back that can run between the tackles or cut it to the outside. Jamarriel Balentine-Running Back-Newport-2022 Balentine had a solid night on Friday night. He rushed 16 times for 169 yards and one touchdown on Friday. Look for Balentine to build on that performance over the next few weeks. Be looking tomorrow night or Monday morning for what we learned in week five. Impressive weekend for a number of teams and players and we will make sure that they get some of the spotlight.
