The regular season is rapidly coming to a close. However, that does not take away from the brightness of the Friday night lights. The state of Arkansas had plenty of impressive performances last night and we are going to take a look at some of the players that played great games. [player_tooltip player_id="75105" first="Bladen" last="Fike"]-Quarterback-Fayetteville-2022 [player_tooltip player_id="75105" first="Bladen" last="Fike"] put up a whole game worth stats and plays in just the first half last night. When Fike is hot, he is the best quarterback in the state of Arkansas. Fike was 21/26 for 270 yards and five touchdowns in just the first half on Friday night. He has had a tremendous season all year and he is raising his level of play as the playoffs approach. Should be a solid playoff for the Fayetteville quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id="143614" first="Carter" last="McElhany"]-Wide Receiver-Greenbrier-2023 The Greenbrier wide receiver had another impressive outing on Friday night. McElhany hauled in four receptions for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Greenbrier is clicking on all cylinders as has the playoffs approach and this team has the potential to go deep into the playoffs. [player_tooltip player_id="224937" first="Connor" last="Baker"]-Running Back-Pocahontas-2023 We talked about Baker a little earlier in the week and he continues to impress. Baker had a monster night on Friday. The Pocahontas running back rushed 32 times for 233 yards and four touchdowns. Baker is the type of running that just gets better as the game progresses. However, he was not done on Friday night. Baker also amassed 13 tackles and had a forced fumble as well as a recovered fumble. Baker is a player to watch out for over the next few months. [player_tooltip player_id="75112" first="Jackie" last="Washington"] Jr-Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2022 Washington Jr is a highlight reel type player and a threat to score from anywhere on the field. On Friday night, he proved that can be a big play threat from anywhere on the field. Washington Jr. hauled in nine receptions for 131 yards and one touchdown. He had a kickoff return for a touchdown as well. Washington Jr. returned the kickoff 89 yards for the touchdown and continued to open plenty of eyes in the process. [player_tooltip player_id="93895" first="Cain" last="Simmons"]-Safety-Benton-2022 The Benton Panthers won a hard-fought game on Friday night and wrapped up a conference title in the process. Simmons racked up 16 tackles for the Panthers and helped the Panthers get some key stops against a powerhouse Lake Hamilton program. Look for Simmons to continue his solid play as the playoffs approach. Jalen Dupree-Running Back-Malvern-2024 Jalen Dupree has opened plenty of eyes this season with his solid play and Friday night he continued his impressive play. Dupree racked 185 yards and two touchdowns off of 21 carries. Dupree is a shifty running back and can be a nightmare to bring down. Look out for Dupree over the next few years. Jessie Knight-Athlete-Maumelle-2022 Jessie Knight had an extremely impressive night on Friday. The Maumelle Hornet racked up 201 yards on the ground as well as two touchdowns off of 15 carries. However, he was not finished there, Knight hauled in four receptions for 76 yards receiving and one touchdown. Knight was absolutely tremendous on Friday night. [player_tooltip player_id="153619" first="Braden" last="Jones"]-Linebacker-Bentonville West-2023 Bentonville West linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="153619" first="Braden" last="Jones"] has had an excellent season for the Wolverines. Friday night he continued to impress. Jones racked up 13 tackles, two sacks, one forced fumble, and he accounted for a touchdown. Jones is one of the better prospects for the 2023 season and his recruitment is going to be a competitive one. [player_tooltip player_id="94994" first="Cooper" last="Wilcox"]-Quarterback-Greenbrier-2022 Wilcox has been a mainstay on the Prime-Time players list every Friday night. Wilcox was 13-16 for 317 yards and five touchdowns. He also rushed 11 times for 137 yards and tacked on a touchdown on the ground. Greenbrier is a dangerous team, and they should have a deep playoff run this season. [player_tooltip player_id="153818" first="Sharmon" last="Rester"]-Quarterback-El Dorado-2022 Rester had another busy Friday night for the EL Dorado Wildcats. Rester was 16-28 for 269 yards and two touchdowns. Rester continues to use his legs well in picking up 92 yards on the ground off of 19 carries. The El Dorado quarterback has had an extremely impressive 2021 season and the school that lands him will get a playmaker on the field. Charles Nimrod-Wide Receiver-Bentonville-2022 The future Tennessee Volunteer had another impressive Friday night for the Bentonville Tigers. Nimrod hauled in three receptions for 131 yards and two touchdowns. The Tigers are mixing the run with the pass well and this will be a dangerous team to contend with in the playoffs. [player_tooltip player_id="92740" first="Jaylen" last="Hopson"]-Running Back-Prescott-2022 The Prescott running back made great use of the carries he received on Friday night. Hopson had 11 carries for 148 yards and three touchdowns on the ground. The Curley Wolves are clicking on all cylinders and are a dangerous team to contend with come playoff time. [player_tooltip player_id="181497" first="Preston" last="Davis"]-Linebacker-Little Rock Christian-2024 Davis is going to be a linebacker to watch out for over the next few seasons. On Friday night, Davis racked up 13 tackles, had a touchdown, and recovered an onside kick for Little Rock Christian. Look for Davis to blow up over the next few months, he is such a consistent player and is all over the field for Little Rock Christian. [player_tooltip player_id="75081" first="Austin" last="Myers"]-Quarterback-Vilonia-2022 The Vilonia quarterback has had a strong 2021 season and on Friday night he continued his solid play. Myers was 15-26 for 234 yards and five touchdown passes. Myers was able to escape the pocket and pick up 30 yards on seven carries. Myers has had a strong season and is a great position to have a strong playoff run this season.
