Piedmont
Jack Hayes QB
Hayes was the best player on the field in this early October classic. His command of the offense allowed the offense to run smoothly and efficiently. Shows pocket awareness and feel. He does a great job keeping his eyes downfield while extending the play with his legs. Has good enough speed and agility to avoid big hits when out of the pocket, His requisite arm strength complements his quick release—one of the more underrated QBs in the state.
Austin Estes WR
Estes served as the primary catalyst of the offense. His versatility allowed him to line up in the slot or out wide and make plays. He plays larger than his 5’9 165 frame suggests. His physicality can be seen when he competes for jump balls or runs through arm tackles. Very shifty in the open field. Estes also maintains good balance through contact.
Ohatchee
Eli Ennis QB
Ennis operated the triple threat offense with toughness, grit, and determination. When the early success of the run game faded, Ennis prevailed with a level of physicality and toughness seen in some running backs. Constantly running behind his pads and willingly running between the tackles. Ennis’ straight-line speed and acceleration were shown when he ran in a 42-yard touchdown and followed that with an 84-yard explosion to the end zone. With both these plays propelling Ohatchee to a comeback victory in the 4th quarter, Ennis showed he can carry his team to a W.
Wyatt Reaves LB
Reaves is a leader who can be seen motivating his teammates or putting them in the proper position. He is an instinctive linebacker who uses his size and fundamentals to contribute. As an old-school hard-nosed linebacker Reaves, embraces contact at the point of attack. He rarely is out of position and can drop back in coverage and handle his own. Made plays time and time again to help lift the defense.
