Very few places can claim the amount of commits and offers prospects receive from the state of Florida. Moreover, South Florida manifests that reputation year in and year out.
Let’s get everyone caught up on the latest recruitment news from this month.
2024 defensive tackle <strong>Justin Bodford</strong> received an offer from <strong>Pittsburgh</strong>. The 6-foot-1, 285-pound prospect out of <strong>Western</strong> has helped the Wildcats to a 5-2 record. Per MaxPreps, Bodford has 37 tackles and 8.5 TFL’s this season.
2022 defensive tackle <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="50263" first="Ahmad" last="Moten"]</strong> received an offer from <strong>West Virginia</strong>. The 6-foot-3, 295-pound prospect out of Cardinal Gibbons has helped the Chiefs to a 5-2 record. Per MaxPreps, Moten has 16 tackles, four TFL’s and three sacks. Earlier this month, he picked up an offer from <strong>Iowa State</strong>.
Just yesterday, 2022 defensive end <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="49988" first="Kenyatta" last="Jackson"]</strong> committed to <strong>Ohio</strong> <strong>State</strong>. The 6-foot-5, 235-pound edge rusher has dominated upfront for the 5-1 Lions. Jackson has recorded 32 tackles, four TFL’s and eight sacks. He choose the Buckeyes over schools such as <strong>Oklahoma</strong> and <strong>Clemson</strong>. Fellow linemate <strong>Cahlede Campbell</strong> recently committed to <strong>Campbell</strong>. The 6-foot-1, 280-pound prospect was committed to <strong>Utah State</strong> before switching to the Camels.
It’s a great start for 2025 <strong>Armondo Blount</strong>. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound defensive lineman received an offer from <strong>Arkansas</strong>. Blount has helped <strong>Dillard </strong>to a 7-0 record with eight sacks. He already held multiple D-1 offers and should be a dominant player for years to come.
2022 offensive tackle <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="111512" first="Miguel" last="Cedeno"]</strong> committed to <strong>Rice University</strong>. The 6-foot-7, 315-pound prospect has been a lock on the offensive line for <strong>Plantation American Heritage</strong>.
2022 defensive end <strong>DeShawn Willoughby</strong> committed to <strong>Morgan State</strong>. The 6-foot-2, 235-pound edge rusher has helped the Bucks to a 5-2 record. Teammate <strong>AJ Jenkins</strong> committed to <strong>Florida Atlantic</strong>. Jenkins has a ton of size (6’3,205) for the college level. Of note, it’s expected Florida Atlantic will join the <strong>American Athletic Conference</strong> (AAC). The Owls have been a <strong>Conference USA</strong> member since 2013.
