Two Atlanta-area players and one from Columbus, three of the state’s top players, are heading to the SEC to play ball at the highest collegiate level.
Here are three players who made their college commitments this week…
Elijah Pritchett Elijah Pritchett 6'7" | 280 lbs | OL Carver | 2022 State GA (Carver-Columbus) – Offensive Tackle- Committed to Alabama
The Alabama Crimson Tide only take the best of the best, and that’s exactly what Pritchett is. The long, athletic offensive tackle has great size at 6-foot-6 280-pounds and knows how to dominate opponents based on his overall strength and size. His long arms allow him to get his hands on opposing defenders with ease, and once he has, it’s over. He gets his man on the ground on a consistent basis and has all the physical tools needed to play at a high-level place like Alabama. He looks the part, he’s physical, can protect the passer, and his best football is still way ahead of him. He climbed the rankings initially after an impressive junior season and really soared up college board this summer after seeing his overall size and stature in person. He’s one of the top-ranked offensive tackles in the country, and he’s heading out of the peach state to play for Nick Saban and the legendary Crimson Tide.

Kayin Lee Kayin Lee 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Cedar Grove | 2023 State GA (Cedar Grove) – Cornerback – Committed to Georgia
The peach-state is absolutely loaded with high-caliber D1 defensive backs and one of the best announced his commitment this week. Junior cornerback Kayin Lee Kayin Lee 6'0" | 160 lbs | DB Cedar Grove | 2023 State GA of Cedar Grove (GA) chose to stay in-state and play for the Georgia Bulldogs over Ohio State, Auburn, Florida, among others. An athletic, instinctive cornerback with ball skills, Lee is one of the top defensive back prospects across the South. He’s not the biggest defensive back at 5-foot-10 175-pounds, but all Lee does is make plays. He’s smart, instinctive, and knows how to make a play on the football. He picked off two passes in last Friday’s game against Carver-Atlanta and has a nose for the football. Lee is physical on the outside and has no problem stepping up and delivering a big hit. He likes contact and knows how to get the ball carrier to the ground. You may not notice him every play, but that’s not a bad thing. Still, every once in a while he’s going to either make a play on the ball, or make a big tackle. He ran with Buford wideout Isaiah Bond Isaiah Bond 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Buford | 2022 State GA during their August scrimmage, and Bond is one of the fastest players in the state. This is a major pickup for the Bulldogs who are on an early in-state roll in the 2023 class.

Bo Hughley (Langston Hughes) – Offensive Tackle – Committed to Georgia
Hughley is another long, lean offensive tackle at 6-foot-7 290-pounds who has quickly become one of the top offensive line prospects in Georgia. Just a junior, Hughley is coming off an impressive sophomore season where he dominated both in the run game and in pass protection. He has long arms and knows how to consistently get his man on the ground. Hughley chose the Bulldogs over Auburn, Florida State, Georgia Tech, among others. He’s a guy that hasn’t even scratched the surface of his potential. He has an impressive frame and looks like a future SEC tackle with his long arms. He bends well and shows nice footwork for a big man his size as well. The raw tools are there, and as he continues to grow and develop, he’ll only get better. He’s exactly what you look for from a physical standpoint and has the potential to climb the rankings over time in the 2023 class. Hughley is one of the top offensive line prospects in Georgia for the 2023 class, and again, his best football is ahead of him.
