The final Friday night of the Missouri high school football regular season saw plenty of impressive performances, including a pair of CBC teammates who turned in career days and four running backs who surpassed 200-yard rushing games.
Here is a quick look at some of the top performances from Friday night around the St. Louis area:
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="222433" first="Jake" last="Bishop"], 6-2, 175, Farmington, 2022</strong>
Bishop caught 13 passes for 153 yards in a loss against visiting Park Hills Central. Bishop is a versatile player for the Knights, playing wide receiver, defensive back, returning kicks and punting.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="222435" first="Jett" last="Bridges"], Park Hills Central, 2022</strong>
Bridges led Park Hills Central to a 49-14 win at Farmington to close out an 8-1 regular season. He completed 15 of 16 passes for 303 yards and five touchdowns. For the season, Bridges is credited with a 74 percent completion rate, 2,201 passing yards, and 26 touchdowns against three interceptions.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="37580" first="Cooper" last="Brown"], 6-3, 200, Holt, 2022</strong>
Brown led Holt to a 49-7 win over visiting Liberty to finish the regular season at 9-0. He completed 23 of 31 passes for 331 yards and six touchdowns and added 41 yards rushing. (<a href="https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10219042/6174c603d45fee0bdcc0caca">HUDL highlights</a>)
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="199041" first="Kevin" last="Emmanuel"], 5-8, 190, Eureka, 2023</strong>
Emmanuel had a career game in Eureka’s 30-29 overtime loss against visiting Kirkwood. The junior standout carried 39 times for 210 yards and four touchdowns -- all career highs — to give his team a chance to pull out the win. In nine games, Emmanuel has racked up 1,368 total yards (1,258 rushing, 110 receiving) and 22 touchdowns.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="222446" first="Mekhai" last="Glover"], University City, 2023</strong>
Glover accounted for four touchdowns in University City’s 72-13 win at Affton. He completed 10 of 16 passes for 187 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 102 yards and a score.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="37608" first="Patrick" last="Heitert"], 6-1, 190, CBC, 2022</strong>
Heitert completed 27 of 36 passes for a career-high 432 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 33 yards and a score as the Cadets defeated host Edwardsville (Ill.) 48-21. For the season, Heitert has completed 63 percent of his passes for 2,161 yards, with 13 touchdowns and two interceptions, and has rushed for 279 yards and eight scores.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="103098" first="Payton" last="Hoker"], 5-11, 185, Fort Zumwalt North, 2022</strong>
Hoker completed 15 of 17 passes for 305 yards and five touchdowns in North’s 42-20 win against visiting Alton. For the season, Hoker has completed 65 percent of his passes for 1,684 yards, with 25 touchdowns and three interceptions, and run for 392 yards and two scores.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="126202" first="Darius" last="(DJ) Jones"], 5-10, 175, Fort Zumwalt West, 2024</strong>
Jones, a speedster who is one of the state’s top sophomores, has displayed his offensive versatility this season. Jones caught eight passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns in a 50-37 loss against visiting Jefferson City. For the season, Jones has recorded 867 total yards (451 rushing, 416 receiving) and 11 touchdowns. He’s averaging 13 yards per reception and 10.5 yards per rushing attempt.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="222459" first="Mike" last="Ludwig"], 5-10, 180, Fort Zumwalt West, 2023 </strong>
Ludwig completed 10 of 14 passes for 232 yards, with four touchdowns and two interceptions, in a shootout loss against Jefferson City. For the season, Ludwig has passed for 1,476 yards, with 13 touchdowns against 10 interceptions, and rushed for 388 yards and eight scores.
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="207488" first="Tyler" last="Macon"], 5-11, 175, Kirkwood, 2023</strong>
Macon had a career game in Kirkwood’s thrilling 30-29 comeback win at Eureka. He racked up eight receptions for a career-high 256 yards and two touchdowns. For the season, he has 42 receptions for 793 yards and 11 touchdowns in eight games. He has 13 total touchdowns, including a rushing score and a return TD.
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="126237" first="Jeremiah" last="McClellan"], 6-1, 180, CBC, 2024</strong>
One of the state’s top sophomores, McClellan had a career game in CBC’s 48-21 win at Edwardsville (Ill.). He caught 11 passes for 284 yards and two touchdowns. In eight games this season, McClellan has 31 receptions for 742 yards and seven scores.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="103467" first="Jaxin" last="Patterson"], Hillsboro, 2023</strong>
Patterson was a workhorse as he ran 37 times for 289 yards -- both season highs –- and a touchdown in Hillsboro’s 45-19 win at Poplar Bluff. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="103445" first="Austin" last="Romaine"]</strong>, also a junior standout for Hillsboro, added 145 yards rushing and three touchdowns and also caught a touchdown pass in the win.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="214398" first="Makai" last="Parton"], 6-0, 200, Pacific, 2022</strong>
Parton ran 32 times for 220 yards and four touchdowns in Pacific’s 46-40 win at St. James. In the past two games, Parton has racked up 523 yards rushing and nine touchdowns on 60 carries. For the season, he has 1,864 total yards (1,713 rushing, 151 receiving) and 28 touchdowns.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="101699" first="Cole" last="Ruble"], Seckman, 2023</strong>
<span style="font-size: 1rem;">Ruble ran 22 times for 253 yards and four touchdowns and passed for 58 yards in the Jaguars’ 42-7 win at Parkway South. For the </span>season<span style="font-size: 1rem;">, he has rushed for 1,931 yards and scored 25 </span>touchdowns<span style="font-size: 1rem;"> and has also passed for 640 yards and 12 touchdowns (against three interceptions). Ruble has been </span>held<span style="font-size: 1rem;"> to less than 179 rushing yards just once in nine games. </span>
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="96150" first="Dayshawn" last="Welch"], Park Hills Central, 2022</strong>
Welch racked up 259 yards and three touchdowns in Central’s 49-14 win at Farmington. He ran for 170 yards and a touchdown on six carries and caught three passes for 89 yards and two scores. In eight games this season, Welch has 1,333 total yards (1,192 rushing, 141 receiving) and 22 touchdowns. He now has 48 career touchdowns.
