Friday night of Week 6 in the St. Louis area provided several impressive performances for teams and individuals.
Here is a quick look at some of the top individual performances:
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="96126" first="Reagan" last="Andrew"], 5-9, 185, MICDS, 2022</strong>
Andrew had another big game in the Rams’ big 56-37 win at Lutheran North as MICDS improved to 6-0. The senior quarterback completed 12 of 15 passes for 260 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 72 yards and two scores on 15 carries. In six games, Andrew has completed 69 percent of his passes for 1,201 yards and 14 touchdowns (against three interceptions) and run for 350 yards and nine touchdowns.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="103396" first="Josh" last="Baker-Mays"], 5-11, 180, Duchesne, 2023</strong>
Baker-Mays, a transfer from Westminster, completed all 12 of his pass attempts for 163 yards and a season-high four touchdowns in a 37-14 win against visiting Borgia. For the season, Baker-Mays has thrown for 706 yards and eight touchdowns (against two interceptions).
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="96169" first="Derek" last="Brandt"], 6-1, 175, Owensville, 2022</strong>
Brandt had eight catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns against Pacific. Friday’s performance was Brandt’s third 100-plus yard receiving performance in six games and his third game with at least two touchdowns. For the season, he now has 800 total yards (608 receiving yards, 192 rushing yards) and 13 touchdowns (10 receiving, two rushing, one punt return) as well as 63 total tackles and one interception on defense. Owensville QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96132" first="Brendan" last="Decker"]</strong> completed 14 of 19 passes for 260 yards and three touchdowns. For the season, the senior quarterback has thrown for 1,268 yards and 17 touchdowns with one interception.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="211024" first="John" last="Clay"], 5-11, 200, Brentwood, 2023</strong>
Clay carried 12 times for a season-high 195 yards and five touchdowns in a 48-0 win at Principia. Clay now has 13 touchdowns in six games this season after scoring 10 in four games during the spring season.
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="37634" first="Kameron" last="Gillespie"], 6-0, 180, McCluer, 2022</strong>
We haven’t seen the official stats yet, but Gillespie scored six touchdowns in a 52-14 win at Gateway STEM. He had three touchdowns on receptions, two on punt returns and added a rushing touchdown on a sweep. The uncommitted senior prospect is among the area scoring leaders with 18 touchdowns in six games.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="37656" first="Steve" last="Hall"], 5-10, 200, MICDS, 2023</strong>
Hall rushed 21 times for 138 yards and four touchdowns and caught two passes for 47 yards in the Rams’ 56-37 win at Lutheran North. He scored three times late in the second quarter to give MICDS a 43-23 lead at halftime. In five games this season, Hall has rushed for 627 yards and eight touchdowns and has added 93 receiving yards.
<strong>LB-S [player_tooltip player_id="171842" first="Kendall" last="Huston"], 6-2, 190, CBC, 2022</strong>
Huston had a fumble recovery and an interception early in a 42-7 win over visiting St. Thomas Aquinas (Kansas) and now has a turnover in four of six games this season. Huston has 26 tackles, four interceptions, three sacks and two fumble recoveries and has two interception returns for touchdowns.
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="211030" first="DJ" last="Johnson"], 5-10, 140, Herculaneum, 2022</strong>
Johnson recorded 11 receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown and had nine tackles and snagged an interception in a 35-14 loss at Grandview. Junior QB <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="211031" first="Jackson" last="Dearing"]</strong> completed 21 of 37 passes for 258 yards, with two touchdowns and one interception.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="172475" first="William" last="Lufiau"], 5-11, 200, Chaminade, 2023</strong>
Chaminade’s Canadian transfer returned from missing two games due to injury and rushed 15 times for 218 yards and six touchdowns in a 72-14 win over visiting Vianney. Lufiau now has two 215-yard rushing games in just four games this season. Overall, he has rushed for 499 yards and nine touchdowns and has six catches for 93 yards.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="193116" first="Jobe" last="Smith"], 6-0, 180, North County, 2023</strong>
Smith carried 23 times for 175 yards and four touchdowns in a 41-35 win over visiting Festus. Smith has scored at least two touchdowns in five games this season and has scored three touchdowns or more in four of six games. He has rushed for 782 yards and scored 15 touchdowns (12 rushing, two returns, one receiving) overall.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="37579" first="Kyle" last="Wuebbeling"], 6-0, 200, Holt, 2022</strong>
Wuebbeling was a difference maker in Holt’s huge 42-32 win at Francis Howell, who the Indians hadn’t defeated since 2008. He carried 32 times for 190 yards and two touchdowns and also added a receiving touchdown as Holt improved to 6-0.
