I’m back with another installment of player evaluations for South Florida. Please feel free to contact me directly below if you would like to be mentioned. I will get to as many players as I can.
John Bock Jr. - Cardinal Gibbons
2022 John Bock Jr. has been one of the best offensive lineman in the region this season. The 6-foot-4, 305-pound prospect has yet to allow a pressure or sack through seven games. Bock will punish his assignment with strong hands and good leverage to the whistle. He will go after kids to the second level and pile drive them into the turf. Bock plays with a High IQ and has great awareness on the frontline. His toughness and persistence to get the job done is in his DNA. His father, John Bock, played for the Miami Dolphins from 1996-2000.
[player_tooltip player_id="50036" first="Nyjalik" last="Kelly"] - Dillard
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="50036" first="Nyjalik" last="Kelly"] is a 4-star recruit by most systems. The 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive lineman has a solid frame with room to put on more weight. Kelly is quick off the line of scrimmage and uses his long arms to get into the backfield. He had 13 sacks in just six games as a junior. Kelly is relentless and could be valuable at multiple spots along the line. He holds offers from Florida State, Oregon, Miami, LSU, Auburn, Indiana, Arizona State, Clemson, Kentucky, Maryland, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Texas, South Carolina, Penn State, among others.
[player_tooltip player_id="50016" first="Trevell" last="Mullen"] - Coconut Creek
2022 [player_tooltip player_id="50016" first="Trevell" last="Mullen"] is an outstanding cornerback for Coconut Creek. The 5-foot-11, 150-pound defensive back has plenty of length to deflect and intercept passes. Mullen uses those attributes well in overall coverage. I would like to see him put on more weight before he heads to college. Mullen is committed to Indiana. His brother, Tiawan Mullen, is currently a junior with the Hoosiers. His other brother, Trayvon Mullen, played at Clemson and is currently with the Las Vegas Raiders.
[player_tooltip player_id="127995" first="Jayvant" last="Brown"] - Deerfield Beach
2023 [player_tooltip player_id="127995" first="Jayvant" last="Brown"] is a versatile linebacker for the Bucks. The 6-foot, 220-pound prospect has solid lateral movement and adequate awareness to fill gaps. What I like about Brown is his coverage skills. He has good speed and can run stride for stride with his man. Moreover, he moves his hips well to adjust to the route in these situations. Brown is a good tackler, but could polish out in that area. He is considered a 4-star recruit with multiple D-1 offers.
