That would be the 5-1 Denmark Danes
The Danes lost a close game in the season opener to Cedartown, a game they should have won, and have since rattled off five consecutive wins. A lot of the success has been due to the play of the defense as the Danes haven’t given up more than 17 points in a game all season. They’re playing better and better each week, and they have a 4-0 region record with a massive region game coming up this weekend against a talented South Forsyth squad.
Top Performers so far for the Denmark Danes:
Shamurad Umarov – 2023 – Offensive Tackle
One of the top offensive line prospects in the entire state, Umarov is a big 6-foot-6 295-pounder who has had an impressive junior season so far. The junior has a great frame, plenty of length, and still looks lean enough to continue adding solid weight and muscle. He plays with a solid base and shows impressive footwork for someone his size. He’s still learning, but he’s getting better and better with each game. He’s excellent in pass protection and knows how to get his man in the ground in the run game. He has big, strong hands and is developing and learning as the season moves along. Umarov has a lot of potential and could quickly rise in the 2023 rankings over the next few months. He currently holds offers from Florida, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, and USF.

He’s had a memorable junior season so far, making 42.5 total tackles, 6 TFLs, 2.5 sacks, and has recovered one fumble. He also acts as the team’s backup running back, giving them a spark offensively. He’s a tough runner and can get tough yards between the tackles. In a backup role, Crayton has rushed 37 times for 172 yards and two touchdowns. He currently holds offers from Penn State, Florida State, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Arkansas, among others.
Treston Jordan – 2022 – Defensive Back
One of the more underrated defensive backs in metro-Atlanta, Jordan is an athletic safety with great ball skills. A current Georgia Southern commitment, Jordan is having an excellent senior season and has been one of the biggest reasons why the Danes have been so dominant on defense. He has a high football IQ and the Danes are able to do a lot on defense this year because of his ability to help others with the scheme. He always makes sure the defense was lined up correctly and has consistently been in the right spot to make plays so far this fall. He shows great ball skills and the ability to cover bigger receivers. He can jump, has good instincts, and could help lead Denmark to a region title this year. Through six games, Jordan has made 25 tackles, two INTs, and one defensive touchdown.
Kenon Dicks – 2022 – ATHLETE
Another impressive two-way player, Dicks has really stepped up in a big way this year as a senior.
