Zak Ahern – Rockford – QB – 6’3″ 200 lbs
Ahern had a fantastic night and was dialed in from the start. He only had 1 incompletion on the night and that was a drop. He put the ball where it needed to be every single time. He threw for just under 400-yards and then he added another 120 on the ground. He scored 6 total touchdowns and was a 1 man wrecking crew. It was nice of Ahern to put on a free public clinic on Friday because he made it looked like ROA all night.
Ryan Mitchell – Cedar Springs – RB – 5’11’ 170 lbs
Mitchell was dynamic on Friday and was giving the offense juice every time he touched the ball. He had a big game numbers-wise and he earned every yard. He rushed for over 142-yards and then found the endzone 3 times on Friday. He was efficient, dynamic, and made plays anytime they needed a spark.
Ben Peterson – Fennville – QB – 6’1″ 190 lbs
Ahern put on a clinic for Rockford and down the road, Peterson decided to not only put on his own clinic but somehow outproduce Ahern. Peterson had 347 passing yards on the night. He was dialed in and made every throw. It was his 7 passing TDs that really set him apart. He made the easy throws and the hard throws look easy. He led Fennville’s offense to a dominant win where they put up 78 points.
Dylan Turoski – Sparta – RB – 5’9″ 175 lbs
Turoski had the best night on the ground anyone has had in quite a long time. He put up 279 rushing yards on the game and never got tired. He got stronger as the game went on and he wore down the defense. They gave him the ball 26 times and he delivered on every single carry. He found the endzone 3 times as well as he helped guide Sparta to a big win.
Jayden Prather – Hopkins – RB – 5’9″ 183 lbs
Hopkins needed a big game on the ground and they got it. The passing offense wasn’t efficient enough in the first half and they relied on Prather to move the ball. They gave him the ball 14 times but he wracked up 238 rushing yards on those carries. He also found the endzone 4 times on his way to a massive performance and an even bigger win for Hopkins to move to 3-3 on the year.
