Ty’rek Spikes – Winton Woods – RB – 5’7″ 154 lbs
Ty’rek Spikes has elite speed and nobody is catching him if he hits the gas. He reaches full speed in a flash and flies around the field. Winton Woods feeds him often and he breaks big runs on the regular. He found the endzone early in the game. He got the corner, turned on the jets, and was gone. He finished with just under 200 total yards and 2 TDs.
Evan Upchurch – Anderson – WR – 5’9″ 150 lbs
While I’m not sure the listed height of 5’9″ is accurate, Upchurch is really fun. He looks shorter than 5’9″ and I say that because he’s easily the shortest player on the field. However, his height doesn’t stop his production. They like to get the ball in his hands and see what he can do. He sits behind the offensive linemen because the defenders can’t see him and he picks up way more yardage than you’d think. He found the endzone on a screen pass because he weaved through traffic and shot out of a hole.
Charlie Kenrich Charlie Kenrich 6'3" | 225 lbs | TE Lakota East | 2022 State OH – Lakota East – RB/FB/TE – 6’4″ 225 lbs
Kenrich is fun to watch because they use him all over the field. They’ll have him play TE one snap, come be the RB the next, and then have him lead block on the next. Kenrich is a weapon. He’s pretty stiff but a proper lifting program could help loosen him up once he gets to college. He’s Lakota East’s goalline back and he delivers every time. He bulled his way into the endzone on Friday and helped lead Lakota East to a hard-fought victory.
MJ Flowers MJ Flowers 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Colerain | 2022 OH – Colerain – RB – 6’1″ 205 lbs
Flowers is a big power back and he’s decent at making guys miss but his best ability is to run them over. He was Colerain’s sole bright spot as they couldn’t move the ball very well Friday. Flowers led a TD drive where he carried the ball 6 times and picked up 77-yards on just that drive alone. He finished the night with just over 100-yards on the ground and Colerain’s only TD of the night.
Michael Molnar – Mason – QB – 6’2″ 190 lbs
Molnar found himself leading Mason into the shootout of the week and he delivered. He helped Mason put up 43 points on their way to a win over Sycamore on the road. He scored twice on the ground and threw a handful of TDs as well. His most important TD was the last one of the day. He rolled out left, saw nothing there, and took off. He got to the 5-yard line and dove while extending the ball. He barely made the line to reach but it still counts. Molnar put on a great performance and led Mason to a huge upset victory. It was an outstanding performance and hopefully, we see more of him in the coming weeks.
