During the summer – before the start of the 2021 season – West Orange High head football coach Mike Granato felt that the nucleus he had in the 2022 and 2023 classes would be the winning combination.
As we head toward Week 6, the objective is still the same as the Warriors carry a 3-1 record into Friday's matchup with Dr. Phillips.
Despite losing 13-0 to Apopka in a game that West Orange had their chances, this team has started to put it all together. Wins over Orlando East River (48-0), Wekiva (49-3) and Windermere (49-0) showed this program that they are indeed back on track to reach the goals set during the spring and summer.
With Orlando Boone, Ocoee, Celebration, Kissimmee Osceola and Orlando Olympia ahead over the six weeks, there is reason to be optimistic.
