It was one of the best games across the peach state this past weekend. Walton, a top-10 ranked team in 7A, hosted another 7A program in West Forsyth. The Wolverines are coming off a tough loss against Cartersville in week 2, but they bounced back in a big way against Walton. In a high-scoring shootout, West Forsyth was able to run wild on the Raiders for a big 51-35 win on the road. The Wolverines looked like a top 7A team and are starting to play better football each week.
Here are some of the top offensive performers from the West Forsyth/Walton game this past weekend...
Peyton Streko:
One of the breakout running backs in the state so far this season, the junior back ran all over the tough Walton defense on Friday night, zig-zagging his way to 252 yards and six touchdowns on just 20 carries. He scored early and often in the contest and couldn’t be stopped the entire night. He’s not overly big at 5-foot-10 190-pounds, but he’s quick, shifty, can break tackles, and has some explosiveness to his game. He’s a natural runner and has some shake and bake to his game. Not only can he break tackles, but he’s faster than people think. He explodes through the line of scrimmage and he’s looking to score every time he touches the ball. The Walton defense got tired in the 2nd half and Streko ran right through them to put the game away in the 4th quarter. It’s not easy to score six touchdowns in one game, especially on a strong 7A team like Walton, but that’s exactly what happened Friday night. He ran hard, he ran fast, and he ran the Wolverines to victory. Streko’s performance was one of the best across the state this weekend. He’s a D1-caliber running back, and once coaches start watching the film from this year, look for some interest and possible offers to come his way.

IT may have come in a losing effort, but it was clear to see the talent from the senior running back. He got the game off to a strong start as he ran down the field for an 80-yard score on the first play from scrimmage. The 5-foot-10 190-pounder plays bigger than his size with game-breaking speed to go along with it. Another tough runner, Smith is a slasher who get get upfield in a real hurry. The Memphis commit showed off his speed and was tough to handle for the Wolverine defense, especially early on. Smith ended the game with two TD rushes and plenty of yards to go along with it. He’s one of the top backs in North Georgia and is on his way to a spectacular senior season this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="33945" first="Oscar" last="Delp"]:
The top-ranked tight end prospect in the country, Delp proved why on Friday night with his best game so far this season. The elite pass catcher is listed at 6-foot-4 225-pounds and runs routes like a receiver. He’s a big target in the passing game and runs extremely well for his size. He’s a complete mismatch against any defense and showed why once again. Delp did a lot of blocking on the edge for RB Peyton Streko, but of course he made an impact in the passing game as well. Delp caught 7 passes against Walton for 156 yards and one touchdown. He’s now scored a touchdown in each of the first three games of the season. The long, athletic tight end is down to a final four in his recruitment and will choose between Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina and Michigan later this fall. Look for the Wolverines to continue throwing Delp’s way over and over again each Friday night.
